Lost (May Contain Spoilers!!)

Call it now - he has read ahead - besides, you won’t see it next week as next week goes back to the beginning of the “other” lostaways…

If there are going to be spoilers in this thread then make a note that you are including spoilers on your post. This is one show I don’t want to know ahead of time what happens. I like reading what people think, but I don’t want to know spoilers. Norm, I hope that’s just “your” speculation.

OK, Jeff dies…hope I didn’t ruin it for charlottealum

She got to be a cop. When she had the gun, she did the cop swing to the right, swing to the left thing while aiming. I’ve not read any spoilers, but AL’s mannerisms smell cop.
How 'bout the chick that’s the shrink? She could make a fortune opening a practice on this island.

Tintin

finally got around to watching my DL of the show. good stuff.

Walt definately seems to be warning Shannon/Sahid about the tail group comming. Maybe he “knew” the future and was trying to stop her from dying. Locke v Charlie (not really but I can see it developing). Whats the black ladies name who does the laundry? She has a severe aversion to the hatch. And previously indicated she knew her husband was ok. Either thats some good faith, or maybe she’s got a connection with the hanso foundation?

I also echo the sentiment of a Lost episode without Kate?!?!?! The writers were definately partaking of the crack when they wrote this one. hehe.

Extra long tail-section episode tonight.

I love the guts of this show to have a dramatic ending last week, and then to completely switch gears and tell the story of the tail section survivors.

One question though: Is it going to be full of flashbacks, flashbacks of only the principles (those not quickly taken by the others), or none at all?

I’m guessing the middle.

Is it 2 hours long tonight? Hope so…

ya this episode should be good, letting us get more info as to who/what “the others” actually are.

the abc.com website only indicates a 1hr show. i’m hoping the website is wrong  a 2hr episode would be fun.

Lost was pretty sweet tonight. I like. I bet we see Walt and the 2 other kids again before its all over. And wow the preview for next week looks intense too!!! good stuff.

Hmmm… Ana definitely shot Shannon as shown in the previews for next week. So much for me spoiling anything.

Well, I can’t say that last night’s episode wasn’t great because it was. One of the better ones this season. But with that said, I’m very disappointed that they crammed all 45+ days of the tail section members into one episode. I was really hoping that we would almost get to start from scratch with the other group. Learning their stories, seeing their past, watching them develop. I would have liked to have seen last night broken down into at least 4-5 episodes before we jumped all the way to the part where the two different groups joined as one.

In my opinion, the writers could have done so many more things than rushing everything into one show to catch us back up. I’m sure that we’ll gradually get the backgrounds (via flashbacks) of the other characters. But personally, I feel it would have been better to do this before we had the merge. Oh well…still a fantastic show and last night was very good.

I can’t really imagine what else is there to tell about the new group. Echo was silent for 40 days and all the others seem to follow what Ana said. I’m ready to get back to the original group and see how they interact with the newcomers.

Anyone else wonder if there is another group on the island from the plane? Ana turned the radio off saying it was the others but was it really? It didn’t sound like anyone from the original group but I could be wrong.

I noticed the “other” didn’t seem to recognize the hatch that they found.

Overall great episode but once again the writer’s failed me, NO KATE?

The voice on the other end of the radio was Boone. It was from when he was in the other plane using the radio in there, just before the plane fell to the ground. He heard a voice on the other end of the radio…now we know it was Bernard.

Last night was a good episode, we learned a few things.

I found it very interesting that the Others’ Spy said that they only took the good people - everyone left was bad. Hum… Makes you wonder about Bernard being bad. And it was Bernard (the lady’s husband) that was stuck up in the tree seatbelted in - I thought that he had just gone to the bathroom. Maybe he found a quick seat?

Ya I noticed that odd look he gave as well. Seemed kinda odd, I just guess I assumed they would have known about it.

Ana is gonna find herself in a world of hurt in the new group if she doesn’t learn how to adapt/change: 1) not being the leader everyone listens too. 2) a complete shift in the way the groups interacted with one another (savagelike->friendly). 3) despite the preview for next week, my money is on Sahid in a 1v1 confrontation. 4) her companion in Echo seems to fit in more with the original group.

Thought this was a great epi, loved the fast pace of it and am REALLY glad they didn’t drag it out 4 or 5 epi’s. Should be some interesting dynamics with the new group. I predict Jack and the psychologist hitting it off and a love triangle between Sawyer, Anna and Kate. I was nice to see some of the others get killed.
Echo is a badass, he is my favorite character.

I was a little disappointed in how they showed the tail section slamming into the water, obviously at some obsurd speed, yet almost all of the people survive. I know it’s a TV show, but come on. Decelerating from 250mph or so to zero in less than a second will kill anything instantly. I just thought it was kinda hokey.

Perhaps, but they did indeed CRASH which seems like something they felt compelled to show. I don’t think it was their original intent.

What Alum said was for me the most intriguing part of the episode. That statement made me think about all the black/white concepts on the island. Is there one thing that the others saw in the kids and the good people that made them want them (a black and white issue)?

There has been a black/white theme running since the start of the show. Can’t remember where but one of the Lost messageboards had a thread listing all the of black/white instances. Was quite a few actually.

And as for the plane crashing with so many survivors…let’s face it, the show isn’t exactly non-fiction. Quite a few “hard to believe” things have taken place so I guess you just have to give 'em a free pass on some of that stuff. But I agree that there’s no way they’d survive that impact in the real world.

And aren’t most of the front/mid-section survivors bad people as well? Virtually all of them had a shady past with the exception of maybe Jack and Bernard’s wife, though we still don’t know her story. Not really sure I’d label Hurley as “bad” either…just unlucky.

From what I’ve read, the writers of the show have said that everything in the show will be reasonably explained, which debunks the supernatural theories and creative liberty taken with reality. I’m beginning to think the writers were just being funny when they said that.
