See it for what it is, but all of those “Bobby haters” who were crying in December are awfully quiet now.
I heard through the grapevine that Lutz Live had a great turnout last night, and I think that is awesome! I can’t be more happy for Coach.
There is no coach in our conference (Hell, let’s even include the ACC) who has more passion for the game than Lutz does. How many other coaches do you know that would go on record, in media and call out our fans? We deserve it!
In order for us to keep him on our bench (and not slip away to N.C. State or Tennessee), everyone needs to let him know how much he means to our program. You do it in what ever form you wish …

I agree with you 100%. Bobby is getting it done, AGAIN!!! And I listened to Lutz Live as usual and it was one of the best shows yet. Tons of questions and sounded like a great crowd.
I know some people criticize me for being so pro-Lutz :fastgun: but if you follow this team closely and listen to his breakdowns and commentary on a regular basis, there is no way in the world you can not be a BIG FAN of his.
I heard a caller on WFNZ this morning comment on how Bobby talked to him for 15 minutes are a recent high school game. He said he knew Bobby was a nice guy and a great coach but had no idea how genuine and passionate he was.
We are very fortunate to have Bobby here as our head coach. We need to step it up another level and SUPPORT the COACH!!!
I absolutely love coach. I have never understood the “haters”. He is a great coach, great recruiter, and loves this school. I am glad he is getting the recognition he deserves. Here is to many more years of Lutz basketball @ Charlotte.
P.S. My sophomore year ('00 - '01 season) I went to Louisville for the C-USA tourney. My 2 buddies and I ran into coach in the foyer of Freedom Hall on the first day and he took about 15 minutes to just talk to us about the tourney and how happy he was to see us. That tournament solidified my admoration for coach and this program.

I'm no Lutz hater, but I still think he's overrated. With the amount of talent on the team, an average coach should be at 18 wins right now.
But then, I'd have to pose the question... Would an average coach have this much talent here at Charlotte?
Sideshow, Your the type of jack -ass that gives Charlotte fans a bad name. You post a message like that after Lutz has the 49ers ranked and with a 18-4 record. What the hell are you talking about, “with that much talent”. Do you know how hard it is to GET that talent? Thats 50% of coaching you ass-clown! Its about getting to a guy like Withers before an ACC school does. Or recruiting the ESPN freshman of the year in a guy like Rodney White. The list goes on, its just f****** amazing that people actually think the way you do! You think NC STATE doesnt have talent? Thats a prime example of a coach that cant get it done…they have a huge arena, 5 times the amount of money as Charlotte, and can pay to get almost any coach that they would want! Look at places like Michigan, with Amaker, he has every resource available to have a talented team! Yet, he cant get it done! Its sad that there are ignorant ass people like you that actually pull for the niners! You have to bleed carolina blue!

Take it easy Richfield. Sideshow is a good guy and he's entitled to an opinion. He feels that Lutz is an average game coach but an excellent recruiter which helps make up for it. No reason to call him a jackass.
He said Lutz is over-rated switchfoot, Who is over-rating him? We cant show love for our coach who has busted his ass without a clown like sideshow coming on here claiming that his x’s and o’s are not up to par. Every coach in the leaugue has respect for Lutz’s game plans. Its just a shame that we cant even get through a full page of compliments without someone being a God-damn know-it-all!
Hey newbie, maybe you should read a few of my posts or talk to some other people on the board before you start saying I’m a crappy 49ers fan or that I bleed carolina blue.
I addressed the recruiting and gave Lutz his due in that respect. And comparing Lutz to Sendek is irrelevant, because I don’t think Sendek is a great coach either. Matter of fact I think Lutz is much better than Sendek, but I still don’t think Lutz is one of the gods of coaching that so many people do.
And please, if you’re going to go yelling obscenities at me and calling me a jackass and throwing the f-bomb around, wait until I’m at a game and do it to my face. Anything less is chickenshit on your part.
Richfield, I agree with you about the Mr. Know-it-Alls. There are a few posters on here that I would definently put in that category. I just didn’t get the vibe from Sideshow that he was bashing Lutz. I didn’t say I agreed with his opinion. I don’t. But be careful calling people jack-asses. I get anoyed with a lot of the Lutz-attacks but most of them I just ignore and many are a lot wourse then anything Sideshow says.
These threads are humorous. If you are critical (a word that is misunderstood) about any aspect of any player, coach, or facet of the program at any point in time, it seems you are labelled a hater. In the past week now I’ve seen the BP “haters” called out, the Lutz “haters” called out, and the OOC performance “haters” called out.
If the pep band puts together a stirring rendition of Soul Finger during the Memphis game, will those haters be called out?
Maybe you don’t hear from the haters when things are going well because the homers are drowning them out.
For the record, I only said I thought Lutz is overrated, because so many people like Bob Huggins and countless color commentators say he’s a genious. I didn’t say I think he’s a bad or even an average coach. I don’t. I think he’s a solid coach, but not the second coming of Wooden or anything.
That’s right. I don’t think he deserves all the credit he gets as a phenom coach. At least not in the game-coaching part (the recruiting, as I said before, is another story and he deserves beaucoup credit there).
Lutz may not be the greatest coach ever, but he is the most perfect fit for our program that is possible. When it comes down to it, Lutz hasn’t been coaching for 30 some years like many coaches out there, he has only been coaching since 1984 when he joined the Clemson coaching staff. So Lutz is still learning, that can even be seen this year.
We are fortunate to have someone like Lutz who cares so much about a program that most everyone else ignores. When I was at Lutz Live last night I told him “Thanks for all the energy he brings to coaching and how passionate he was about the game”
I think we should all tell him that. Because Lutz makes some mistakes but he more than makes up for it with caring, and that is more than most everyone else, including UNCC Alumni, in the Charlotte area does.
Lutz is a great coach and I think there is no way in hell he would ever leave here. He has to be one of the best in the country. It is amazing he does so well after all the places he has been and been assistant there.
