HIH, I have never read more crap from one keyboard in a long time. Lutz is not getting it done. He has proven again and again that he can’t win the big game, will always drop games we shouldn’t lose, and to top it all off, will probably jump at the first offer from NCSU…

Bobby can draw up a game plan better than any coach in the country, but he is really stubborn and isn’t always willing to adjust.
The funny part is, I know certain “homers” who bash Lutz mercilessly in person and Lutz “haters” who defend him just as hard.
I’m not afraid to walk up to Bobby and ask him why he did something. I don’t always like his answer, but I like that he gives it to me. I’m sure he can tell by now, through the brief conversations I’ve had with him, that I don’t care 100% for his style of basketball, but I love what the guy does for the school. Anyone who bashes fans of this program for their support is lame. The people that post on this message board love the team and the staff. There are a few people that don’t, but none that I have met.
I get sick of “homers” telling other people that they don’t care about this program, it’s ridiculous. And no, I don’t expect everyone to like each other, but geeze, can’t we just respect each other as fans? I’ve gotten into it plenty of times with Lefty, but I would never once say he isn’t a fan (god, how could I?) and I like to think he’s never thought anything like that of me.
I know it won’t change anything, but I guess I wouldn’t feel right if I didn’t post this at least once a season.

So let me get this straight…if all the college basketball gurus (Bilas, Katz, Huggins, etc., etc.), who by the way follow the game and know it just a bit better than us (in most cases), call Lutz a great coach and one of the best X’ & O’ guys in the business I’m supposed to be swayed by a niner fan that he’s average? Funniest damn thing I’ve ever heard. Sideshow I respect your opinion but I’ll side with the guys that study the game 24/7 that Lutz is in the top 10-15%. I can name 5 teams in this state that have at least half dozen All Americans on their roster…guess how many we have. Talent? I don’t think so. Developed talent? Yes thanks to coach Lutz. Please humor me and give me your dream replacement…Wooden’s a little too old for the job btw 
EJ, first off I never said he’s average. I think he’s better than average. I just don’t think he’s phenomenal.
However, would someone who is the undisputed king of X’s and O’s constantly struggle facing sub-par teams? Or fail to have any blowout wins with a lineup like we have now? Would they struggle year in-year out with defense? Would they have 6 or 7 tournament appearances and not 1 single Sweet 16 appearance?
Fortunately I have seen some changes for the better lately. The 49ers have done a few things recently that they never were able to before: build a late lead, stay in a close game and not let the lead slip away, win at St. Louis, play solid defense (Depaul), and make free throws consistently.
Now if the 49ers advance deep into the tourney maybe I’ll become a Bobby homer.

I think PB for the most part has it 'bout right. Coach is a good x’s and o’s guy and a great recruiter. I think Coach would be the first to admit Rutgers and ECU were major brain farts. Also, let’s not forget that much of the 2nd half of the season’s success is due to Coach finally working the inside extra hard with Curt and Chris, something many on this board chimed in on a loooonng time ago.
I think the real test for Coach now becomes winning the regular season conf title, and moving beyond at least the first round of the NCAA-> 2 things we hav’nt done a lot of. I’m sure he’d agree with that.
To Coach’s credit, he’s gotten the Niners to the pt were the difference between good and average is how deep we go in the NCAA. That’s a great accomplishment.

First off, I didnt embarass anyone, I had the balls to call Brett Jenson out on his comment that the 49ers shouldnt be allowed in the ncaa tourney because we lost to ECU. If you knew anything about college basketball, you would know that that was an iggnorant comment. Yea, that gets on my nerves when people say that kind of BS on the radio, he also said that the 49ers didnt deserve to be in the top 25. All that I asked him was “Did he also think that the Tarheels should be banned from the tourney for losing to Santa Clara, or should Wake be banned for losing to Florida State?” I also asked him if he had ever seen the 49ers play, his responce was that he had and that he covered B. Plavich( In which he pronounced his name wrong) a few years ago. That guy is a jerk-off, just like you!
