More drama 49r9r? I don’t ever recall attacking any 9er in a thread but I like your revisionist history as you call me Tarhole Mike. I don’t mind taking an upopular stance and I’m not afraid to do so despite any grief I get from you or anyone else. I can guarantee you that there are not many bigger Niner fans than me. I’m really surprised a UNC Charlotte graduate thinks I’m a Tarhole fan after pouring through hundreds of my posts.

You had an opportunity to do your own analysis when the results would have been much more to your liking, but you did not. I am actually interested in the results. Say what you want. My point remains the same. Doing a survey in modern times after the O improved their coverage (didn’t the Raleigh paper start calling the shots) in no way reflects the injustice we received at a time when getting the entire city behind us was essential to our future.
I still cannot believe that Hootie called that Over40Niner a “Folk Hero to Niners of all ages”. Over was a troublemaker. He had the audacity to think we deserved the same coverage other hometown teams received from their paper. Over also had the audacity to support the basketball and baseball teams through thick and thin, unlike the real fan Mullins Maniac, who bragged about NOT attending a game in Halton for something like 10 years.
We went back since the CUSA days along with HP, Lake and CLT. You forgot Over is also a ladies man, too. ;D

The recap on the Tarhole-Maryland game was classic Big O bias for UNC-CH. No quotes from any Maryland coach or players, no mention that Dez Wells (of Raleigh, no less) led Terps with 21 points, etc.
Then reading Ron Green Jr.‘s “remembrance” piece in which he recalls sitting in then-Kansas head coach Roy Williams’ office in Lawrence while a tearful ol’ Roy explained why he turned down the initial offer to coach the Tarholes.
