Or they just want to go to their dream school. His Dad was a stud at UNCCh, why would he not want to go there?
I doubt many 21 year old kids are looking for a challenge. They typically are deluded into thinking they actually can play at a bigtime school or they would rather sit on UNCCh’s bench than play for a mid-level school. I don’t really get that way of thinking, but it’s not my decision to make.
You want to come to Charlotte, Luke. Search your feelings, you know it is true. 8)
Gonzaga has offered.
RT @Coach_Rick57: 6’8 Jr Luke Maye was offered by Notre Dame and St. Joseph per his father
We still in the picture with Maye?
He hasn’t listed schools he’s interested in yet, just those that are recruiting him to this point in time.
RT @Justinbyerly: Rhode Island and St. Joe’s has offered 2015 W Luke Maye of Hough HS/Team United (NC). Kansas State is latest to reach out.
Let’s hope he finds college courses challenging.
Will be playing for a new coach next season.
@Coach_Rick57: #NCTOP80 alum 6'8 '15 Luke Maye on official visit to Charlotte this weekend per sources
Make this happen.
well, we can definitely offer him playing time. That has to be at least one positive in our favor.
Would be a good pick up. Glad we are going after him. He certainly knows alot of guys on our roster being from the Charlotte area…and has a lot in common with Dorn since they both have fathers who played football at chapel hill and were co players of the year in their conference last year.
That being said, I’m betting he won’t sign early and will wait it out. We’ll see.

@Coach_Rick57 @rossmith They've been on him from Day One. That means a lot. Maye's are high character and very humble people. Loyalty matters
My legit insider info tells me we can beat anyone for Maye except the really big boys like UK, Duke, and of course UNCCh if they are at all interested.
He actually could pull a Jackson Simmons type move from what I’m told.
He won’t get an offer from the really big boys unless it is a “last minute and we have an extra scholly thing laying around” type of thing. I can still say that I heard it come out of his own mouth that he wanted to play in the ACC for what that’s worth. He told the guy sitting right beside me those exact words. He didn’t say where but that he wanted to play in a conference against the best and specifically said the ACC.

For every Duke, they have a Virginia Tech. If he enjoys sitting the bench for a top level ACC team or
getting his brains beat out playing for a lower level team, more power to him.

Hopefully Sullivan and Braxton can convince him that going to big name schools isn’t always best.
From what my friend that knows his family well told me, we can beat most ACC schools for him except for 3, possibly 4 and Clemson isn’t one of them
