Luke Maye - 2015 PF offer - verbal to UNC-CH

Well, far be it from me to defend a Tarheel, but, Roy’s coached two National Powerhouses and won two titles and makes serious coin. I hate UNCCh but I’d love to emulate that…
And yet he’s stlll a slack jawed, self centered, pompous blowhard. Fame and money don’t buy class. (See Donald Trump, for example)
Oh, and by the way, if you think fame and money insure happiness, I refer you to the late Robin Williams. Listen to Roy say he wants to leap off a tall building
because his boys lost a ball game and tell me he’s a well adjusted guy. No thank you.

Well, to be honest, one could drop Major into coaching situations like Kansas and Chapel Hill and he’d probably do mighty well.

clt could coach UNC CHeat to twenty wins with the talent they have.

Otherwise, we wouldn’t even know who he is; much less be uttering Hall of Fame in relation to him. There’s a reason he was voted most over rated coach in America.

Is Major a better Coach than Matt Dorherty?

RT @CitizenJP: Just bumped into Hough F Luke Maye. Still weighing his options on college. About 5 schools in the mix, including Davidson, Clemson, UNC

I’m assuming Charlotte and Tennessee are other 2 teams.

I wonder who Maye was working with at Clemson? If it was Earl Grant his interest in the Tiggers may have changed.

Maye’s game is very intriguing, rebounds well because he knows out to use his body on the blocks. Find open space very well on offense and has a feathery touch with the ball.

Getting a little worried about this kid. Last year he looked huge and if he kept growing would have certainly been a PF I would have been interested in. However he does not seem to have grown much, and his development of an outside shot I suspect is due to the fact that as the other kids around him continue to grow he can’t get the shots he used to down low. He does not have the body nor the finesse to be SF. He is starting to look like an undersized 4 who can occasionally shoot.

Not saying he is bad or anything, I am just less excited about him now.

Going to Davidson. Likes the A10 competition better than CUSA.

Major needs to offer Ryan Friday from Hough. Only a Junior this year.

Major fans won’t like that post.

Ugh. Davidson.
Ugh. Davidson.
There is nothing out there confirming this.

It wouldn’t surprise me, but I don’t trust anything posted here unless it is by Jags or a couple of others that have a proven track record of having inside information.

I’m in no way suggesting he’s going to Davidson. I just felt there wasn’t enough mention of purported Major fans in the post.

It’s between Clemson, UNC, and Davidson.
From the source “Most likely Davidson because A10 is a good conference where he could start as a freshman”

I get what you’re saying. But I think he would still be a great land for us. Our last 2 PF’s(Braswell and Clayton) did not have the most impressive verticals either. If he can rebound as well as though two and has a better outside shot, I’ll take it.

He’s a creative scorer and finds ways to get his shot off. He’s rebounded well in one of the top groups on the travel circuit in the EYBL, a lot of that can probably be attributed to positioning.

Clayton is only 6’7 and isn’t athletic, doesn’t stop him from rebounding at a very solid rate.

Will be attending UNC-CH’s midnight madness.

Just read the recent comments on the “Name Confusion” thread, had to use all my Niner knowledge to verify which Midnight Madness he was attending.

“Hyphen? Check. H after the C for Hill, not CHarlotte? Check. Must be going to watch the Heels.” :sigh:

Curious- Are we still strongly recruiting both Maye and Izundu, or is it basically one or the other at this point?
