Luke Maye - 2015 PF offer - verbal to UNC-CH

Well, we have 2 scholarships left. After next season we’ll lose Thorne, Clayton and Sullivan. We will be adding Benas (Auburn transfer), but have to imagine we’ll need at least 1 more big to have some experience.

I’d imagine we’d take both if we can get them.

I’m sure we will have hard time getting anyone to come in and have to sit behind Blakely.

Does anyone really think Maye is a viable recruit for us? Does anyone really believe he would seriously consider coming here if he knew he could at least walk-on in crappel hill? I don’t, on both counts. This guy is like a fantasy “recruit” for us.

let the kid alone! he makes his bed; let him lie in it.
he might even get some PT, w/ all the one-and-dones.

Taking official visit to Clemson this weekend.

Maye fits the mold of a kid who goes to the ACC, sits on the bench for a year and then realizes in practice that the freshman coming in can dunk over him so he transfers to a school where he can play. We might get another shot at him if not now.

not to go off course but this kid could definitely get pt at clemson, probably early. they definitely dont have typical acc talent. some of the kids they recruited belong at the southern conference or slightly higher level.

clt asks why is he getting dunked over?

b/c he doesn’t sign w/ us

Maye will decide in November between Clemson, Davidson and UNC-CH

If he goes to Davidson he will play a fair bit, would eventually start.

If he goes to Clemson he will play some but not as mush as Davidson. May get to start or would be a regular rotation player.

If he goes to UNC-Ch he gets to tell his kids that he played college basketball at UNC-Ch. Plays limited minutes in garbage games early in the season / senior night his fourth year.

And shag more a** than the law should allow and be set up for life when he graduates. Just saying…

And not have to go to class and get paid a ton of money while in college. Just saying…

It’s the only reason he’s going to get ass. You seen that dude’s mug?

Recruit: Tell me again why I should sit the bench for your team.

Roy: Because you’ll get a ton of dad gum ass.

Recruit: I’ll sit the bench.

That how it goes?

So. Luke Maye.

Commits to UNC-CH, walk on as a Freshman then scholarship for next 3 years.
