I know some of you will Iām nuts for bringing this subject off of page 2-3 or whereever it was⦠but so be it, its called freedom of speechā¦right?
Even in victory today, I thought Coach Lutz, in his radio comments, still sounded a little frustrated that the environment is not like this more often.
Iām sure he doesnāt expect 9,105 for every game, but I couldnāt help but wonder if heās a bit frustrated by the underappreciation for his teamās efforts.
Iāve stated before that student support is as good this year as Iāve ever seen it, but its still poor in relation to the tickets that are made available for students.
Maybe if more tickets were available for selling to the general public, the school could raise more revenue to sustain/build the basketball program.
Coach Lutz isnāt THE ONLY person who can build this program, but I do think there is something to be said for continuity.
If Iām wrong when the season is over, Iāll be more than proud to admit it, but I still canāt help thinking that he thinks he may have gone as far as he can at this school.
Oh and as far as A10 vs. CUSA, there are plenty of bottom feeders in both leagues, I donāt see a big enough difference that its worth worrying about now. Unless Charlotte had football, they had no shot (IMO) of going anywhere but the A10 or CUSA. Given that, Iād rather be in the A10 for the 05-06 season.
