MAJOR Recruits

If Alan Major pulls CJ Leslie, aformentioned desired wow factor will be answered with a nuclear blast…

Terrell would be huge for us. I would love to see Major find a raw big man that can RS and learn from him for a year.

PG is key, I hope Briscoe is staying. We need a solid one.
Haven’t they already locked Briscoe up on a scholarship? I thought I read that.
Duece’s scholly would not kick in until the 1st summer session. He has until the end of the this semester to decide to stay or transfer.

Sokool, is this something Duece is still contemplating? He would be a huge asset to our program the next 3 years should he stay. That being said, I can understand why he would leave as his ties (coaching wise) to the program are no longer in tact.

Hopefully things will work out fine.

Losing Deuce would be devastating. He would be a gigantic contributor to our team. We need Deuce. Duece stay!!!

I don’t know why I haven’t seen this…or maybe i’m just on a different planet, but…WE NEED SOMEONE WHO CAN SCORE THE BALL!!! Preferably a #3 who can slash and also has a midrange game.Wilderness is an ok stopgap, but he’;s not gonna create fear in the hearts of any of our opponents.

Hopefully things will work out fine.
I hope he decides to stay. Ninernation has been waiting to see him for a long time and he will have plenty of opportunity to play and lead next year. If he is as billed, we could be a pretty explosive team. We wanna see what you can do in Charlotte, Duece.

Briscoe can score, it sounds like he may be waiting to see what happends to Perron before making a decision. Just speculation on my part based on some posts here…hopefully it all works out, we need him.

Don’t know why Briscoe would think about leaving now. His only competition for playing time is a walk-on since Davis opted out to UCF. Briscoe is not going to go to another school of our caliber and get little competition for playing time. I hope Trevin can develop into a Harris-that-can-score PG at this level, but the starting job is Briscoe’s right now. If Deuce goes somewhere else with guaranteed PT, it’s going to be a lesser program similar to where he came from.

He, like the other guys on the roster, are here because of personal relationships with a coaching staff that has been fired. I think it is a case of extreme over-simplification to think that playing time is any consolation to a player in a situation like this.

Hopefully Major believes Perron is an asset to the staff and retains him, and hopefully we keep Briscoe as a result, but if things don’t play out that way, I won’t have any hard feelings towards Briscoe if he decides to play elsewhere.

Is he really willing to sit out another year?

quick, someone start a Jamar Briscoe fan club on facebook
Is he really willing to sit out another year?
he wasn’t on scholarship. He can leave and play immediately anywhere else.

Wilderness is a beast. It’s just hard to succeed in an offensive system primarily based around the 3 point shot, when you aren’t a 3 point shooter. I expect to see big things from Anjuan this upcoming season. Let’s not forget, he was a huge scorer in HS in a talent rich state (Georgia). Injuries have plagued Anjuan over his career here, a healthy Anjuan goes to the hole with reckless abandonment. Of course, that could be half the reason for the injuries.

Wow i just don’t know where to begin! How long have you watched the 49ers? No questions asked, are you nuts??? Wilderness is one of the top 3 players on the team hands down. The offense was not a good fit for him, or for Braswell. Braswell scored half his points off of rebounds, if ill advised 3’s. It would be spears, braswell, and wilderness as the top 3. Also the best athlete on the team. Wilderess was one of the few players that i had any faith in last year, Bobby would never play him.

wilderness is definitly not the best athlete on the team. kj and derrio are both more athletic than him. i think in order to be more effective he needs to use his jumpshot more.

What in the world are you talking about? Yes Wilderness is athletic but that’s about it. He can’t finish at the basket and is a missed FT waiting to happen. Dude, come on.

Wilderness does a lot of the little things that coach Major talked about in his presser that we must do. I think Chris Lowery (coach of Southern Illinois) said it best when he described Wilderness as a “junkyard dog” on the basketball court.

Wilderness can’t finish around the basket??? That’s all his game is, he finishes with tons of contact at the rim.
