MAJOR Recruits

It’s hard to work inside when our offensive sets consisted of STAND AROUND AND WATCH THE GUY WITH THE BALL. >:D >:D >:D

Correct- he gets to the rim and draws contact. Problem is he can’t convert FTs.

He averaged 5 pts a game, he ain’t finishing that much.

Agree with that.

He averaged 5 pts a game, he ain’t finishing that much.
He’s horrible at the FT line, but it’s hard to score when you never get the ball.

Wilderness has been used thusly to this point:

Run a play for him early. If he finishes, repeat. If he doesn’t, usually because he is fouled, run the play again if he is successful at the FT line. @ 50% or so, An’juan wasn’t that successful.

Wilderness needs to greatly improve his FT shooting if he wants to be a bigger part of the offense. Lutz probably bailed on him too quickly, but a slasher (with no jumper) that cant finish at the line is a problem. I’m sure Major will call his number regularly if An’juan can hit 70+% from the line. And he can make his whole life easier if he can start hitting 40% of his jumpers.

I think Major will like his hustle and he seems like the kind of hjard nosed player that will go over well with our new coach. I think he’ll give good effort in man to man D.

Agree- if he could shoot 70% from the line he’s an asset. But you can’t go to him if he can’t make the FTs, just can’t. He’s solid other than that- plays hard, crashes the board, tries to plays D.

Quick update on Wake/Maryland recruits:

All signs point to Jeff Bzdelik becoming the next coach at Wake Forest. FoxSports.net's Jeff Goodman tweets Bzdelik is flying to Winston-Salem and there could be a press conference on Wednesday. So what does this mean for the Demon Deacons in 2010-11? First off, it would appear that associate head coach Jeff Battle and assistant coach Rusty LaRue might still have positions under Bzdelik (if he does indeed take the position). According to Dan Collins of the Winston-Salem Journal, none of the CU assistants have been offered jobs at Wake. While this is good news for the Colorado program (which will certainly look to assistant Steve McClain to be the first to interview), it's also good news for WFU. Bzdelik hasn't coached in ACC country since the early '80's and will need someone to help him with the area's recruiting relationships. Wake has one of the best incoming recruiting classes in the ACC. Thanks to J.T. Terrell and Travis McKie, Wake will be able to rebound somewhat quickly from losing Ish Smith, L.D. Williams and Al-Farouq Aminu. However, even with the returning assistants, Bzdelik will still need to put in some work to get the recruits to attend the ACC school. Carson Desrosiers has said he is staying put right now and waiting to see what happens. Arizona State, though, was hot on his tail before he signed with Wake. Plus, McKie is engaged in a Twitter conversation with former Deacon Justin Gray and though McKie's tweets are protected, it sounds like he on the fence. However, one incoming player seems like he is still Wake Forest bound. Tony Chennault -- a 6-foot-2 PG -- said (through his HS coach) that he is still committed to Wake and is not reconsidering his decision. Part of his steadfastness, though, probably stems from the fact that associate Jeff Battle (will probably) be retained by Bzdelik; as Chennault's HS coach points out, "If Wake Forest retained Jeff, I think that would make Tony's decision easier." Before being fired, Dino Gaudio called 2011 a transitional year and even more so now, it will be as players could potentially learn how to operate a new offensive system. Wake does return Ari Stewart and C.J. Harris so there are some pieces to work with. One thing is for sure: Wake will probably be one of the youngest teams in the nation in 2010-11.
Terrence Ross still on the fence 3:57PM ET Terrence Ross Top Email There have been whispers that Terrence Ross -- who at one time was committed to Maryland -- may have to attend a prep school next season but the 6-foot-6 SF insists he will be eligible in 2011. With that in mind, Percy Allen of the Seattle Times reports Ross still plans to make three more visits before he settles on his college decision: Kentucky, Oklahoma and Washington (in that order). After losing virtually every player to the NBA draft, Kentucky appears ready to completely reload and revamp their roster. Not only is Ross still considering the Wildcats but Brandon Knight is widely considered to announce for UK tomorrow and C.J. Leslie, Terrence Jones, Josh Selby and Marcus Thornton (formerly a Clemson commit) are all strongly considering the Wildcats. We know one thing: after Enes Kanter decide Montlake wasn't the place for him after all, if UW then loses out on Ross and Jones (both have UW among their final choices), it will be a tough summer for Huskies fans ... and coaching staff.

.

:))

Looks like Kentucky is about to re-load again. I think you can probably put CJ Leslie’s name down for them also

Wow i just don’t know where to begin! How long have you watched the 49ers? No questions asked, are you nuts? ??? Wilderness is one of the top 3 players on the team hands down. The offense was not a good fit for him, or for Braswell. Braswell scored half his points off of rebounds, if ill advised 3’s. It would be spears, braswell, and wilderness as the top 3. Also the best athlete on the team. Wilderess was one of the few players that i had any faith in last year, Bobby would never play him.
wilderness is definitly not the best athlete on the team. kj and derrio are both more athletic than him. i think in order to be more effective he needs to use his jumpshot more.
This was brought up during the 07-08 season. On that roster he had lowest vertical on the team, aside from maybe Phil. He’s very slow and a poor ball handler. Yes, he appears to be strong. But not sure where the best athlete observations come from. This season he did look to gain a step after he finally healed. I hope he continues to progress.

Anjuan strong like bull.
