I am generally concerned what will happen to Mean Joe Greenâs mental well being. What will he do?He canât just keep all that hate and anger from his every day life in his head and not have Mike Hill to release it on.
Big news. Hope we have a plan moving forward
Seems most logical replacement will be Biff.
(I donât know why but I feel the need to add âjokeâ here)
Has he even posted about this? Iâm shocked I havenât seen a post yet.
We were just having this convo this morning. I guess Gaber does care about athletics.
Though many figure it was the correct thing to do, there were murmurs in December of a tift between he and the Chancellor about the handling of Biffâs firing. From what I was told from a source inside the building, Mike was feeling pressure to get rid of Biff before a very likely 5-win season was achieved, consequently showing âimprovementâ over his tenure. To do so, he strategically did it after Game 10, knowing we were favorited for Games 11 and 12. Problem is, knowing the cost and timetable, the Chancellor was not yet ready to get rid of Biff. To make the firing seem justifiable immediately, Mike allegedly stretched the truth in places, even told some untruths, that came to light and made the Chancellor look bad to some of the donors and other notable people associated with the University.
I liked Mike but he whiffed on three revenue sports hires and had a bad extension. Fundraising hasnât been where it needed to be either. This is surprising because we hadnât heard the heat was getting turned up on him but I understand the move.
Please do NOT turn this into a âWe done Biff wrongâ thread. Geez!!!
That fits with the facts as we now know them, thanks for posting.
No opinions here, just sourced info.
APR alone was enough to get rid of Biff.
Biffâs comments at halftime of the JMU game did it for me.
No espn Saturday and fire hill airplane signs needed? Dang Gaber. At least let us complain more.

Just posting another local report.
I mean thereâs really not a performance metric by which he was doing well. Additionally, the contract really was not conducive to the 21st century.
That said, I am surprised. Maybe I shouldnât be. I just assumed he wouldnât be held to the fire.
Can we please get someone who can actually get this program the support it needs?
I think we have good enough coaches to win. We need the support.
Iâm also worried about an investigation.
Imagine vacating our wins and solid finishes. Would be funny to be doing some cheating and still suck very very badly.
But he was just extended last year, so it canât be based upon his overall body of work unless albins slow start was the determining factor
