I wouldnât be surprised if the AD doesnât come from another school and athletic department.
Just a reminder of why Pitt fired Lyke. Hint - primarily about

I think you might be exactly right. But this turns my stomach! When did college athletics stop competing for talent and âwants-toâ and dawgs who want to buy into what this program is offering! Now weâre just trying and trying to get them a little more jack! Itâs not even Jimmyâs and Joeâs; itâs Benjermins and Jeffersons! Iâll check in on scores from time to time, but Iâm through. Seriously, I have a new hobbyâŚ.I feed the birds (and bears, occasionally) and watch their eating habits and try to memorize their calls. An occasional box score will do me. Hope we win, but frankly, my dearâŚ..
Thatâs a possibility if we follow lead of USF. Or even UNC-CH, whose incoming AD is a lawyer and most recently a NASCAR team exec.
Iâm with ya. Itâs pretty disgusting.
A very early red flag on Hill. I remember from a quote or something that he seemed surprised at how little interest the city of Charlotte had in Niner sports.
Seems like it would have been a red flag if he hadnât noticed that.
After some reflection, I think this is a strong statement that Gaber will not allow the students to subsidize athletics with no expectation of success.
I think thatâs a good thing for our future.
clt says Charlotte is full of new folks. they will support us when we win.
Not sure about that given there are still way too many Cowboys, Redskins and such that will never convert to being a Panther fan or supporter.
Timing is certainly odd.
Maybe there is a top candidate that has recently become available that Gaber wants to secure now, and doesnât want to wait. ![]()
Alex is a great guy, heâs an alum (grad school), and he very well may be qualified for this job, but I donât think we need to hire anyone who worked under Judy as our next AD.
Working under Judy makes me a little nervous but he was one of the few that left instead of settling in here for 25 years. Thatâs the ambition we need.
Whoever we hire I want them to have the ambition to be here do great things then leave for something bigger.
This x 1000x. No judy or Mike people
Thatâs true. We need ambition for sure.
I doubt Gary would leave SMU after just arriving there in June. Also think his primary task of fundraising will be a whole lot easier in Dallas.
Not saying this guy is on our list, but I thought of him with all the swirl going on. My son knew him when they attended UNCW together.
Many would be happy to see Jarmond go elsewhere.
Itâs time to clean house. If you are an employee that has long been a part of the many failures, you should be put on notice and should get to checking Glassdoor
We need someone with ties to the University or at least the City of Charlotte. This position requires some passion for the University and Charlotte area. It is a tough job, and raising money in this city for Charlotte Athletics is not a job I would want.
Not politically correct, but maybe it is time for an Alpha male in this postion.
