Mike Hill’s Performance Review

Next football game I feel somewhat good about is Monmouth 2025.

Unfortunate thing is, app appears to be on the decline but since we cant get out of our own way, we will probably lose

I dread the season opener next year in BofA. Expensive tickets and Biff ball.

I was told 600k

I still cannot fathom how inept this university is and that we extended this guy. Listen I respect everyone’s opinions, but I don’t love the blaming COVID. Every university in the country had to deal with COVID. Every coach in the country had to deal with COVID. Somehow there wwre still many who were able to continue momentum and make tournaments and win home games against FBS schools.

I truly do not understand how we are in any better shape now than we were with Judy in charge. I could even argue we are in worse shape. And believe me, I was no fan of Judy. I had my fire rose shirts and had my fair share of emails from DuBois telling me I don’t donate enough.

Mike Hill has been a complete failure in his time with Charlotte and this might just be the end for me. I can live with poor results when I can see the end game. Mike Hill was given 4 extra years after now coaching hire failures, being absolutely awful at fundraising, and doing nothing to improve the state of the basketball and football teams. Only at Charlotte is that considered worth of a contract extension.

I give so much credit to those who remain loyal and are able to see the positives here, but I just can’t do it anymore with the changing landscape of college sports and honestly with how pathetic the panthers are. Charlotte is getting left behind and with Mike hill running the show it’s not a matter of if, it’s just a matter of when will this program be completely irrelevant.

It appeared that way too by their play. That may have something to do with Fearne bringing in so many guys with just one year left. This is there last hurrah!! They just want one more shot at winning! At least thats my opinion and my hope!

Yes every school had to deal with COVID, but we may have been the only school that with a new football program and that made their first bowl game and had their first winning record not able to follow up on that with in person recruiting or a regular home environment. Will may have still been a bust, but he was absolutely robbed of being able to really capitalize on that momentum - the first time we had ever really had any momentum.

With Ron, he had his best team, playing their best ball right at tournament time
and then poof, everything canceled. Again he may have still been a bust, but that team got robbed and was not able to capitalize on that success the next year and lack of in person recruiting had a huge impact.

Not all schools were impacted the same way or were in the same place.

I just want it on the record that I hated the Sanchez hire the moment it was announced.

Agree with NWA. 2020 schedule was weak. Very good chance we bowl that year. If will bowls twice in a row here, he’d have gotten several job offers, and we all know he’d have taken one.

In my heart I believe Sanchez’ biggest problem was his strict refusal to abandon his principals. Then when the 3 pt line got moved out, it just became less and less practical for a mid major team to play pack line. I think Ron recognized that, and decided he would rather be an assistant coach than abandon his ideology.

I can’t speak for you guys, but I was absolutely blown away the first time I toured UNC Charlotte. I never would have believed it was there until I saw it with my eyes. I assumed it was a commuter school that was likely in a terrible part of town. I do think Covid was a lot tougher on schools like ours that are fighting perception battles opposed to more traditional college towns.

I mean, university city is one of the worst parts of town, so it kinda is.

clt says u city is getting better every day.

if something happens in derita, local media will call it u city

Yeah that pisses me off. Anything that happens within a five mile radius, the media says it’s in u city. :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

It’s also an island of relative calm and stability surrounded by rougher areas on that side of 85.

When disasters strike UNC Charlotte is always impacted more than other universities.

Name the coaches otherwise you’re just full of nothing but BS. FYI, the local coach at the YMCA doesn’t count!

Didn’t realize Sanchez had fallen on the sword for that loss. Everything I’ve ever read pretty much blamed Bennett, though his assistants and mostly the players themselves were definitely complicit.

Local YMCA coach??? That is just who Judy/Mike would hire. I’m not going to out my guys giving me info. But it’s a combination of low major, mid major and high Major coaches. I’ve given out other info on the discord. It deletes over time.

But I can promise this message board could have hired a guy better than Ron.

Is what it is. I’ve started to care less. We officially confirmed our university doesn’t care. I’m just happy we can field a team.

Go Lacrosse!

Interesting because I talked to high major to mid major coaches who said it was an excellent higher.

Willing to bet the only coaches you talked to are the ones in your heads. If you can’t provide names of coaches then it’s nothing more than bullshit from a guy trying to make it like he actually does know something.

I guess you didn’t watch his introductory press conference where he made it absolutely clear he would not hold himself accountable. That type attitude and mentality produced the expected results. A loser who didn’t win and bailed on his team.

Do you post about anything other than sucking up to Ron Sanchez or Mike Hill?
