Mike Hill’s Performance Review

I know you are an idiot…proven by your conspiracy riddle post that started this thread.

I also am confident he doesn’t know coaches at all levels and spend all this time talking to them.

Again with the ad hominem. I’d think the mods would think this is becoming inappropriate.

He used to be a team manager for us and knows people in coaching ranks that he keeps in touch with.

Alot of inappropriate around here, if you want to make idiotic statements you should be call out for it. If you can’t take that and want to cry to mods about it so be it, but as I said if you think there is some dark money conspiracy then you sir are either an idiot or drunk and unless you’re an alcoholic the. Idiot it is.

Sorry if that hurts your feelings but the truth hurts.

Good for him doesn’t mean he actually heard what he saying he did. Easy to hide behind I am not naming my guys.

It’s simple doesn’t jive with the comments at the time of the hire.

Ninerbasketball is pretty connected, i wouldn’t doubt his sources

I’m sorry you’re too small minded to believe that there are people with power, money, and influence who recognize what a threat a prosperous Charlotte athletics department would be.

By the way, if the goal was to be subversive and produce results that turn away even long term committed, die hard fans, the they’d be accomplishing that goal.

There are also many on the board who know me, my intellect, and what’d I’ve personally accomplished, so if you’d like to continure baseless personal attacks against me because you disagree with my theory, go right the fuck ahead. I’ll continue being highly successful and reading your dumb as shit posts.

You don’t name your sources publicly (though he has off this board), if you want to keep getting fed information.

If you think any coach is going to publicly say negative things about a coaching hire when asked on the record, you have a room temperature IQ.

He’s proven to Niner fans in the past he has legit sources. You’ve proven nothing beyond being an asshat.

If your think that people are worried in Chapel Hill or Raleigh about Charlotte athletics enough to put a guy to ruin the athletics then yeah your aren’t just an idiot but a moronic idiot at that.

Glad you are highly successful, I know a lot of idiots who are smart, but when it comes to certain aspects of things are simple put dumb as a box of rocks.

You do remember a former Chancelor coming on our campus telling us if we want football to go “cheer for the tar heels or wolfpack” right? That line of thinking is strong in the triangle… have to be living under a rock in this state to not see it.

That softball hire is definitely still employed - just no longer by us!

Makes it sound like she’s no longer in the business.

IIRC, it was Charlotte billionaire and businessman C.D. Spangler Jr. - a UNC-CH and Harvard grad - and William Friday’s successor as UNC System president (1986-97) who made that cringe worthy comment.

On the plus side, he did donate his salary as UNC prez for distribution among the system’s campuses, including the one located on NC 49 in his lifelong QC hometown.

Since you’ve introduced the word, it is idiotic to suggest that it is idiotic to observe the powers that be seek to keep UNC Charlotte “in its place”. There is plenty of evidence to this effect. They literally came here and said as much when we were trying to start football.

This level of incompetence and squandered opportunity is not simply a natural occurrence. If it is, it is incredibly unfortunate. The abysmal odds of this University continuing to squander so much opportunity lends credence to the higher probability of intent. It doesn’t have to be a “conspiracy”. They’ve been overt on the matter.

No Med school. No Law school. Diminutive name. We R Charlotte. “But look at all our Track & Field championships!”

I’m not weighing in on the question of intent. I’m saying it’s completely reasonable to make that appraisal. What kind of God awful luck do we have to have to just so happen to end up with a Judy Rose 2.0?

In many cases I do think the mothership and the BoG does all it can to fuck us. With this though the simplest answer is the likely answer. He just isn’t very good at fundraising first and foremost and coaching hire’s secondary. I can tell you his dream job is chapel hill or Clemson AD. No way would he voluntarily destroy his resume when he wants one of those two roles.

Clearly his performance here though isn’t going to put him in line for either.

Sad that many of these post seem so quick to dismiss the athletes who have won championships in other sports. Track and Field is a sport and a championship in it frankly shouldn’t be just dismissed or used as fodder to make a point. Guess in some eyes they don’t represent the school, when actually in this day and age are more of a student athlete than many of the basketball/football players.

No one is saying that. At all.

simplest answer

Mike Hill is not an isolated case though. It might be the simplest answer when taken alone, but this is just one in a long line of squanderings. The simplest answer becomes intent when taken in consideration with the totality of the evidence. The odds of such bad luck and “whoopsie” incompetence is not so simple to accept.
