He , meaning Nash started too d@#$ many, is that the answer you were looking for?
What the hell does Nash playing good or bad have to do with how badly Baldwinās playing? If his shoulder is still hurting(which I think is a lame excuse) than he shouldnāt be in there anyway. Boy,iām only still realizing how much we miss Eddie, and how much better he nade everyone else.I also think we ought to start dumptruckā¦I know he has a tendency to foul, but he really brings some badly needed energy to the floor.Iām normally not a rah rah guy at all,but iāve never seen a team with so little emotion out on the court.
Curt hasnāt regressed, he just has no one to get him the ball. They posted the play by play online, and itās telling. He couldnāt get a shot in the second half. He still rebounds like a machine and hustles. You canāt score if you donāt get the ball.
Mitch is pretty useless. Assist-to-turnover ratio is overrated. The turnovers portion is good, meaning youāre not doing anything stupid. But if you were to actually chart how many of his assists came off open jumpers (where all he really did was give them the ball, didnāt put them in position to score), youād be surprised. Watch it next game. He is just not bringing anything to the table. Doesnāt drive and dish, doesnāt create. The number of times he gets into the air without somewhere to pass is alarming.
Our half court offense is a mess. Itās a 3 point attempt or nothing at all on nights like tonight.
All in all not a good performance. This team will win the games itās clearly supposed to win, compete in pick-em games, and lose games against teams like GW. Donāt expect anything more.
I couldnāt have said it better myself. I made the comment weeks ago that we have no PG. Hell even Lutz said it in the postgameā¦āwe have no point guardā. DA creates all of his points and Leemire is the benefactor of good kickout passes from Curt and Coleman. What good is an assist ratio when you only avg 3 assists a game?? We have noone to breakdown the zone in a halfcourt set. I donāt blame Curt for lack of productionā¦I blame our innability to feed him good passes from the perimeter and driving to the basket. If Mitch wouldānt hit the clubs so often and cut back to two packs a day maybe heād be more effective. But as we all know kids will be kids and theyāre priorities arenāt always where weād like them to be.
Mitch is effective if he is aggressive and drives the ball, otherwise he gives us very little. Leemire, Alexander, Curt are legit. Bennett and Coleman are nice role payers off the bench. Weāre obviously missing a PG and another talented big manā¦if we want to compete with GW, Xavier and other top 30 teams. Our position in the A-10 is pretty clearā¦somewhere from 3rd to 5th.

If Mitch is really smoking cigarettes midseasonā¦I hope coach would kick him off the team. That shows a lack of respect for yourself and your teammates when you deliberately take actions that weaken your body, stamina and strength.
For what ever reasons, Mitch is a shadow of the player that sliced and diced loserville awhile back. He seems tentative and slower. Maybe gun shy with that bummed shoulder? Another negative in a season full of them.
Un fortunately, for whatever reason, injuries, confidence, Baldwin is a shadow of his former self.
Maybe he will turn it around, doubt it from what i saw Saturday.
Also, how many of the following post moves have you EVER seen Curt use: - Drop step - Up and under - Baby hook - Spin left (weak side)
I can agree with this portion of the argument about Curt. He does not use traditional post moves near as much as he should. He does at times make some of the aforementioned moves, but not nearly as much as we (or scouts Iām sure) would like to see him.
Iām sure that when it comes time for the NBA, the scouts will know that with some big man NBA coaching they can teach him those moves (since you canāt teach raw athleticism).
I still think that when he gets the ball down low, he commands respect and even if he misses some fadeaways, he will get an equal number of scores and dish outs to open Jās after being double teamed.

I wouldnāt say Curt and NBA in the same sentence. Not gonna happen. Double doubles? Heās going to have a double double in missed free throws and turnovers before this season is through.
Jerrell Lewis should have been starting PG all year. By this point, we would have loads of experience and we would be much better for it. I came on here in November and started a thread that said āLewis and Feltonā claiming that both should be starting for their respective teams. Mitchell Baldwin was never a PG.
What is happening with Curtis is eerily similar to what happened with Jarvis Lang in his final year. Ponce James and Rod Howard just couldnāt get him the ball when he had great position. He got most of his offense on rebounds and put backs. Give Lang and Curtis a Sean Colson and they would have had DeMarco offensive numbers. Just my opinion.
Mitchell is afraid that he will re-injure the shoulder. He never attacks the basket anymore. He go by a defender and stop at the free throw lane or pull up for a 15 footer that he canāt make.In the game Saturday Mitchell went for a loose ball but only stuck in his right arm.J Lewis in his brief apperance did take the ball to the basket.Breaking down a defense is how you get Curt easy shots. No one on this team can do it.
I donāt know why people complain about shooting so many threesā.All season they have shot better from 3 than 2

I totally agree with that opinion ![]()
