MTSU (9-19) Pre-game Thread

I still find it hard to believe that our 1st C-USA game will not be televised. Very disappointing.

100% agree. I thought this would get picked up after us going 2-0. Being our first CUSA game and all.

A few changes to the depth chart this week.

Fortunately itā€™s the only game that wonā€™t be on TV this year most likely.

All these pregame stories in the local paper. its almost like the cover the hometown team or something.

Special note from an MTSU fan:

It defaults to audio, so make sure when you click the link (even though it says "Watch" in the link) make sure to hit the one a second time that does not say 'audio only' if you don't get the visual the first time. It's quirky.

Amato: Floyd Stadium should be filled

I think this game is going to go down like last seasonā€™s Coastal game. We get knocked around at the beginning, but the. Play with them in the 2nd half, but lose by three touchdowns. 38-17

:ā€˜( I was feeling this too. :ā€™( Maybe also like the nccu game here where they punched us in the mouth from the get-go and we slinked through the rest of the game. :-[ HOPE NOT.

I realize that theyā€™re probably doing this to avoid confusion with his dad (the Head Coach), but itā€™s so pervasive in the article that I started reading it in Madden-fellating-BrettFavre voice:

After a play when Brent Stockstill rolled out and threw the ball away to avoid a sack, even reporters in the press box said aloud that Brent Stockstill played like an upperclassman.

We are a 20.5 underdog. Hope the defense make it a closer game than that.

[/quote] I hope our defense can force Brent Stockstill into poor decisions to the point that Brent Stockstill commits enough turnovers that Brent Stockstill will be benched. Brent Stockstill will then be sad.

Has it been confirmed that Fain will play this week? I read earlier that he would be back, but I never saw anything definitive.

Lambert said on the radio show that he would be back this week. I assumed that he meant he would be back at practice. Iā€™m not sure how much or if he will play. It would be nice if we had someone covering our team and we might know if he was practicing or not.

Iā€™m ready to beat the Flying Pegasi!

Lets murder this abomination!

I suspect that we will lose this week (hope to be wrong) but one thing I find really interesting is how so many schoolsā€™ fans (I suspect our included) think so highly of themselves. An example of what I mean is the MTSU fans posting over on CSNBBS (they seem decent enough) that seem to have a VERY high opinion of their program and where it stands in the overall landscape of college football (and sports in general). It seems like they think we are some program that should strive to be like them one day (not just in football it seems to me). I didnā€™t want to be accused of trolling them, but in all honesty I never knew much of anything about MTSU until a few years ago and I consider myself to be pretty knowledgeable (atleast to the extent of knowing schools names, leagues, major accomplishments, etc.). I really didnā€™t ever even know what league they were in until they made it to the Sun Belt and of course into C-USA eventually. Maybe I am reading too much into their comments. :-\

I remember going to a Tennessee game vs them in 2002, and the fans felt it was a dangerous game. UT won 26-3 but it wasnā€™t easy, Iā€™ve always had a ton of respect for their program. Despite the coach, they always seems to play with a chip on their should, and I mean that in a good way.

Iā€™ve got my car packed, waiting on 4:30 to get here so I can get on the road. I canā€™t wait to see where we stand :).
