My realistic expectations for next season..

OK, with the Niners’ season over and done with, I figured I would share what I believe to be realistic expectations for next season.

First of all, I would expect our overall record to be around 35 and 4. I know, I know, 4 losses sounds like a lot, but with the loss of Leemire, I think it’s possible that we lose 3 or 4 games.

I would expect to go about 15 and 1 in conference play. Again, I look like a pessimist picking us to lose a conference game, but without Leemire leading the way, I think a loss is possible.

As for individual play, I see Lamont Mack emerging as our #1 scoring threat, averaging around 35 ppg. I also think he has the national POY award locked up. It’s pretty obvious that Bowden will average about 25 ppg or so, and run away with national freshman of the year. I see Coley getting about 12 rpg and 7 bpg, and Gaby and Phil each getting around 10 rebounds and 6 blocks per game. Ian will continue to improve, and average around 15 ppg, and the Dijuike Harrity pg combo will average around 25 assist per game.

Bobby Lutz will be the unanimous choice for national coach of the year.

As for the postseason, I see us getting the overall #1 seed in the East regional. A clean sweep of the tourney and a National Title is to be expected.

I see Halton Arena selling out each and every game, and in a non-basketball related note, Norm the Niner Will punch Chapel Hill Phil in the nose, and Take over as Chancellor.

What do you all think of my predictions/expectations? Am I being too pessimistic, or do you think I’m spot on?

Is it November yet!?

Oh by the way, I just whipped up a nice batch of Niners Kool Aid, if anyone wants a jug, let me know! :drink:

You are crazy, how could we possibly lose 4 if Bowden averages 25 a game? Goldwire averaged five points less. That is some tasty Kool-Aid.

Totally reasonable expectations.

Totally reasonable expectations.

Agreed. Though 4 losses does sound like too many.

I think it's possible that we lose 3 or 4 games.
hater

r u being sarcastic or what?

r u being sarcastic or what?

Are you being sarcastic by asking a question like that?

undefeated…you heard it here first

Is it April 1st…NO, I am all in on that prediction, maybe a couple more losses:49ers:

r u being sarcastic or what?

What kind of question is that? Those are serious, realistic expectations. Let me guess, you are one of those bitter Lutz-bashing haters that thinks we will lose 5 or 6 games and only make it to the Elite Eight…

I’m tired of people coming on here and bashing our program like this!! How in the hell are we going to lose 4 games?? Lutz is better than that!!

:fastgun:

I hate you…

Hater? Please! You’re the original hater. Where’s the mention of the entire team going in the first round of the NBA draft, with Kyle Church going #1. I’m so tired of people disrespecting the quality of our players and only focusing on Lutz’s system.

I’m tired of reading these negative posts bashing our program. Norm the Niner would never hit anyone.

Stepping aside from the sarcasm.

I expected 20 wins this seasons and that’s exactly what we got. I’m gonna go ahead and say we’ll get 24 next season with a top 3 finish in the A-10.

You forgot to mention the NCAA appearance.

Dijuike Harrity!

That pretty much sums up our PG situation! Ha!!

I am DESPERATE to win at least one game in the tournament. I don’t think I’m asking for much.

I’d also like to point out that Davidson’s final play today was oddly familiar… Down 2, 16 seconds left, 35 foot three point attempt with .3 seconds left! If only he had taken that shot as a deep fade away in the corner! Mckillop got the exectuion all wrong on that play.

KIDDING!

Going away from the sarcasm and bs, I expect a NCAA berth. Anything less is not acceptable next season.

the green tinted glasses shtick was funny the first 20-30x or so.
