I will say, one of the greatest times I had was listening to the U N C C chant echo throughout Madison Square Garden when we took out State in the NIT and at Rupp Arena when we took out Syracuse & Michigan.
It just seems to resonate better then CLT

I always find it funny how some people find pride in being confused with Chapel Hill, like what?
I saw on that thread somebody mentioned the story of Auburn, and I think we’re gonna go down that route. Give it like 20 years.
My best buddy lives in DC. Graduated from UNC Charlotte and literally every time he is asked where he when to college people get confused about chapel hill.
He said it’s been going on for 30 years.
Change the damn name.
And allow every other UNC school to do the same if they wish.
Charlotte University would be fine.
That flows from the previous name of charlotte college.

Other NC schools have issues too - but in different ways. I have noticed lately that UNCW gets all up in arms if people call them UNC Wilmington. They prefer UNCW. Why not just Wilmington? I have no idea. “UNCW” doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue in conversation.
Yeah. I think UNC Greensboro likes the UNC too. And Pembroke probably does too.
