It’s not going to help that there’s already at least three Mexican restaurants next to the university, plus your Qdobas, Chipotles, Taco Bells.

I know it’s not the public’s fault… it just amused me to imagine them building their new restaurant with a Ramses theme and then the owners be confused why everyone was talking about the San Francisco 49ers.
It’s funny, I’m seeing tweets now about people correcting news agencies that it’s a @unccharlotte student not @unc. Double reverse name confusion or something.
Not sure this thread should be in the “Basketball forum” with ALL the examples cited here. But to add to the discussion, I was looking through an Engineering magazine and came across this “30 under thirty” article. From the profile, it appears he is from “The University of North Carolina” and lives in Charlotte?

I agree that more than likely it is not going to make a difference.
But if he hears from more Alums that are bothered by this, than he hears from alums that like the UNC Charlotte name, then maybe a change will happen. But only complaining about it on a message board will never change anything.
With the football initiative, I honestly think we saw Dubious warm up more to the idea after the former UNC presidents spoke on campus. Something finally went off in him. Maybe something will finally will go off in him in regards to the name change too.
