The Canes are tied for 1st in the East.
This would be the year to get back to the Stanley Finals.
Senators. They deserve it, been soo long since a canadian team won it.
the senators dont deserve shit. every year they get all the best players, are overhyped, ride along the top spot in the conference and league, and then choke in the playoffs.
this is the canes year. watch out. several key players are injured and we’re still fighting with 3 games left for the first spot. in the playoffs, when we get those players back, kthxbye. ottawa will bow out early as always.
Move back to Canada, Eh!
It is so sickening to hear over and over again from Canadians that they want to see a Canadian team win it. F that. So if you’re a Maple Leafs fan, you’d prefer to see Ottawa, the team that beat you 8 times this season (out of 8 games) to win? If so, don’t. Don’t ever watch the sport of hockey again. Or any sport, for that matter. Ever hear of Michigan alumni rooting for Ohio State when Michigan sucks? The other way around? Duke fans rooting for UNC? Canadians are all over the league, and all throughout American teams. Canada produces better hockey players than the US. Because it’s a lot less popular here. However, funny still that Canada has what, 6 teams, and we have the rest…so all that great talent you produce comes here. We know that Canada produces better hockey talent, so don’t waste your time rooting for your favorite team’s arch rival, dumbasses. Somehow I know there’s fans of Canadian teams somewhere that just say “F the Senators” once their team’s gone…or whatever other Canadian team is still left. Believe me, I’m not going to think you’re a better hockey player if a Canadian team wins. They don’t represent you. Learn about being a sports fan. Rule #1, don’t root for arch rivals. Ever.
Dont be ignorant, Ottawa is just as much in Ontario as it is in Quebec. Its just as fas for me to drive to the country’s capital as it was the provincial capital.
Its fans like you that ruin sports for fans who enjoy the game. Im sorry you didnt make it pro, or even to the collegiate sports level. Trying to be a superior fan… wont get ya in buddy. The Leafs and Senators have a great history, look into it before you talk. Not that history or where you live should matter.
The Leafs and Senators are division rivals. Rooting for both teams is betraying whichever team you claim to be a fan of. If Ottawa is just as much in Ontario, pick them to root for over the Leafs, and root for them, and stick by them, and be a damn fan of the team. I didnt claim to want to go pro or anything of that sort. Rooting for “your” team’s rival is being a bad fan. Me pointing that out may “ruin” sports for other fans, yeah, but that’s because they’re horrible, unfaithful fans. Atlanta is closest to Carolina as opposed to other teams. Does that mean I’d root for them? Hell no. They’re division rivals, and they fight when they play each other. Therefore I carry that same hatred of Atlanta that every team member of the Hurricanes has, because I’m a fan.
Correct me if IM wrong, but did I say im a Leaf’s fan?
Its been a while since a Canadian team won, and I think Ottawa will win it. Hence the phrase, its about time a Canadian team won. (like 17 years now). Would I curse if the Leafs beat the Senators… sure. Will I curse if the Leafs win the cup? No. Will I curse if the Hurricans win the cup… no probably not. Will I curse if the Hurricanes beat the Senators? yes.
You dont seem to understand, I am Canadian, so just as much as it is right to root for the Senators, it is right to root for a Canadian team over an American. Like when George Washington beat us, and alot of people where upset (including me). I still cheered for our conference, even if it was GW.
So whats your beef man? why are you on here flaming?
Its loosers like you, the anal-fans who just ruin it for everybody else. Getting at every little techincal detail. Sports is a form of entertainment to be enjoyed, and you the super fan should know that… Dick.
OK, if you’re a leafs fan, all you have to do is turn around what I said. Being a leafs fan, and rooting for your rival that beat you 7 times this season (keeping you farrrr out of the playoffs)…there’s something wrong with that. And people rooted for GW in the tourny (people. not me. i would never.) because if they had success it would guarantee us money, and help us out. It would not help the Leafs at all if the Sens won. I’m not flaming. Learn to handle a little criticism as a sports fan. All I’m saying is don’t betray the Leafs by rooting for the Sens. They’re arch rivals. I promise you, whoever wins the Cup, there are many Canadians on that team. Most likely, there are more Canadians than on most Canadian teams (Most Canadian teams don’t have Canadian captains…Leafs - Sundin - Sweden, Ott - Alf - Sweden, Montreal - Koivu - Finland…)
Calgary and Edmonton are the only ones…Jason Smith and Igilna. I do sympathize somewhat with the belief that “the Cup belongs in Canada” for Canadians, however, I would think that you would only want it there in the hands of the Toronto Maple Leafs, if you were a “super fan,” as you say.
again… I repeat… when did I say Im a leafs fan?
And your not criticizing, your flaming. Criticism is usually an evaluation of something. Your just blabbing/attacking on about how I like the leafs which I dont think I ever said.
I don’t know where I got the idea that you were a Leafs fan, but that was the example that I used…Leafs fans that root for the Sens in the playoffs or the other way around when their team doesn’t make it. It’s betraying your team.
Thats why I dont get. Where did you get the idea I was a Leafs fan though? I always root for the senators.
Anyways. There are alot of people in Ontario, who just hate the leafs, or senators, but when it comes to cup time, they painfully back the team they hate, because of all the flak Canadian teams get, for not winning the cup, just because were Canadian.
who knows though, when it comes to sports fans there is all types.

I wasn’t trying to say it was you, I was referring to fans of any Canadian teams rooting for a rival just because it’s a “Canadian” team, and wanting the cup “in Canada”. And what I’m saying is, Canada owns the shit out of hockey, because some Americans are careless about it, and Canada definitely produces better talent, so far. Most names on the Stanley Cup are Canadian, and I would think that’s where the pride should come from, rather than rooting for the other “Canadian” teams disregarding your loyalty to your team. I don’t care about any “American” team winning the cup for it being in America…wtf is that…it means nothing for the country. If the Hurricanes don’t win it, I’m done “cheering,” for the most part, unless it’s I’m cheering for this team because I dislike the other team, because they’re an enemy of the Hurricanes.
.... F that. So if you're a Maple Leafs fan, you'd prefer to see ....
It seemed you were talkin about me. However, you were not, so your opinion is respected.
Canes looking good now! Tough to beat Stanley Cup playoff atmosphere on the ice and pregame tailgates. Great event yesterday and hopefully there’s more to come (in subsequent series not a game #7 in this one
).
Down 2-0, the Canes are up 3-2 on the Frenchies.
I don’t hate Canadian teams, but I don’t like the Quebec team.
go canes
What a freakin comback. I really thought the Canes were done for after losing those first 2 games. Good job canes
And how about those wings? Anyone watching that game? Im shocked that Edmonton is still alive.
