And how about those wings? Anyone watching that game? Im shocked that Edmonton is still alive.
The question that keeps running through my mind is WHY are people so surprised that Edmonton beat Detroit? Sure, it’s a #1 - #8 matchup, but Edmonton loaded up for the playoffs, and look at the season series!
Detroit - 2-0-2 (lost to Edm twice in OT)
Edm - 2-1-1 (lost to Det once in regulation, once in OT)
I’m pretty sure Edmonton did better than most teams against Detroit, beating them twice…
As for the Hurricanes, I knew it was coming, just didn’t know when. The amount of leadership on that team, they can come back from anything. I was at the game Sunday night (Game 5) and it kicked ass. Hopefully after tonight it’ll be on to the matchup with NJ. The only thing I worry about there is Brodeur. And the Hurricanes did pretty well against him during the season, so we’ll see. If we get through Montreal and NJ, we should get Cole back. If the Hurricanes can make it the point where they get him back, Stanley Cup for sure.
I am not counting on Cole to contribute to the Canes in the playoffs. I think he will be out of shape and out of synch by the time he would be ready to hit the ice… in addition, he may be a bit tentative after a major injury like he suffered. Too bad because he’s had a great year!
I stayed up and watched the flames game up till they tied it. I havent followed the ****s and the dlames that much, but I saw Selane playing… I havent heard or seen him play for years now. Is that the same Teemu Selane that used to play for _______? One of you guys know his history?
Big Sabres fan here and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing us completely blow out the Flyers last night. Nothing makes me happier than seeing their Stanley Cup drought extended to 30 years. The Bills have sucked for the last decade so I’m happy to at least see the Sabres doing well for the first time in a few years.
Canes tix went on sale at 10am this morning. Games are still TBD but the rumor is game #1 is Sat at the RBC Center.
That’s not a rumor. Second series starts friday, with Buffalo and Ottawa, therefore the Canes play Saturday, most likely @ 7. I got my tickets!
And Teemu Selanne played for the Avalanche (one season, last season that was played) Sharks, Mighty Ducks for years before that (he just returned this season) and the Winnipeg Jets was his first team…I think maybe that answers your question? I wasn’t sure if you were being sarcastic or something, I didn’t quite understand what you were saying but that’s who hes played for.
As for Cole, they’re not going to stick him in a playoff game while he’s not in shape. The timetable includes time for that. I don’t think he’ll have a problem adjusting, if, in fact, he gets the chance to come back. Hopefully he will. I think he can contribute.
That series wasn't even nearly as close as the 4-2 outcome may lead you to believe. Buffalo outscored Philly 27 to 14 over 6 games. They're playing really well right now and I'll be surprised if they don't reach the finals. I'd love to see a Canes/Sabres Eastern finals but I'd definitely be pulling for Buffalo.

Considering Dominik Hasek is still not playing, Buffalo can score some goals. They better, if they hope to keep up with Ottawa. I think they did a pretty good job of that during the season, if I remember correctly. But if Buffalo wins, it will go 7 games, unless they really get under Emery's skin, and stay out of the box. A huge concern that gets bigger as games/series go on for both Ottawa and Buffalo is playoff experience. Carolina has more of that than both teams, and in a conference final, that could make a world of difference, as you can see from a rally from 2-0 to win 4-2. We'll see.
Ya that whats I was talking about. I thought he had played for the Sharks or something.
I didnt see alot fo the Sabres game, but from what I did see, I was surprised.

Awesome performance by the Canes on Saturday. I hope they didnt use up all their lucky goals and saved some for the rest of the series. We spotted Aaron Ward (coat and tie i might add) in a Cary bar immediatley after the game… he was laying low but the rest of the bar was celebrating the 6-0 win. Game #2 tonight!
