These a holes should be tracked down and kicked within an inch of there f’n lives and BANNED from Halton for the rest of the year at least. DAMN FOOLS!
Student section overall was brutal. 104 was the only section into the game (obviously too much) 105 sat on their hands til the very end and the upper level was like the upper level always is…lame. I get that theres been a bunch of losing over the years, but the students have gotten so weak… Make your own entertainment guys! (And not by throwing crap onto the court!)
I’ve made it a point not to comment in these threads about students since football ticket fiasco, but it’s really over the line. The student section has become a complete joke. Wholesale change is needed.

Yes, that was quite the fiasco.
Before the game, academic accomplishments of the team being announced over the PA and the student section decides this would be a good time for the “I believe” chant, drowning out the announcement.
Very classy! As for the object throwing, people should be pointing out the culprits to security. They make it very clear during pregame that this is grounds for removal.
I don’t agree with throwing the stuff on the court and nearly costing us the game but they helped win the game finally making some noise when the guy that was killing us all night missed 2 ft’s when the place got loud. Also the first announcement was made while music was playing and the crowd was fairly loud so I give them a pass on that although they should know when they come through the door not to throw stuff toward the floor.
Need to find a way to get the crowd involved in the game (without playing stupid basketball game races and the rotating cup game) as last night at the end of the game showed how a loud crowd can change a game.
Also, somewhat related to students wtf happened to the pep band it is a lot smaller then years past and quite frankly didn’t sound all that good last night.
There have been many times that the three hobo’s on S. Tryon with horns sound 10x better than the pep band. Hopefully the football band bleeds into a decent pep band.

Performing at the basketball games will be part of the requirements for band scholarships. Should improve instantly come 2015.

I hate that crap, but they pay to show it so it is not going to change.

I remember being a student and something got thrown on the court at the ref (Mike something, every 104-er’s arch-nemesis). Coach Lutz immediately walked over and grabbed the mic from the announcer to express his disgust. I think if the ref had escalated it to a warning/technical coach would of rushed the stands…
That night, I cut his picture out of the paper and sauteed it with garlic.

I was wondering about this. It doesn’t seem to be in Major’s nature to do something like that. I wonder if Judy will need to make an announcement.

Lol, I remember that. Coach Lutz looked like he was going to jack someone up.
Maaaaan, we have an anemic student section. I guess years of not using the free gym have rendered them useless outside of cheering for a few minutes a game.
Team came out with energy this game and the students still didn’t rise to the occassion. They could have been a big help in other close games at home, instead they are turning into the old folks at Chapel Hill games.
