Thursday - “No Devolución”
Even you indie guys might like this one…this is essentially the same lineup they’ve always had but not nearly the same type of band. These guys take me back to middle/high school, one of the post-hardcore pioneers, but not more of an alt-rock outfit.
Definitely worth a listen…very nice album with lots of variety.

Austin Lucas’ newest record A New Home in the Old World is great. For fans of real country music. Think 1960s outlaw country, this is his first electric record and it slays.
The best record this month though is easily Spraynard’s Funtitled. It is available for free download on if you make it. It is one of the best 90’s retro records I’ve ever heard.

Very reminiscent of 90’s fuzzed out guitars. Little repetitive, but the lyrics are just another instrument. This one is about the mood.

Seriously, any Misfits fans? They are so good and (too my knowledge) so underrated.
They are one of the most lauded hardcore punk bands of all time. But, they deserve all the praise.

A fun cover of hybrid moments. I don’t know how much punk you like bust, but if you are interested, there is a huge underground scene that is slowly blowing up right now. And you can get most of the music free.
Wtf is this embedding limit reached business? I can’t sort it out. Some videos are ok and some aren’t? That doesn’t seem to be it. Can’t be NNN because some vids work. Can’t be the host because some youtube vids work and even barely ever watched vids work.

I tried to host a vimeo vid, didnt work. 12 seems like a really arbitrary number, but maybe that is the page limit? (edit: And then if you modify this post, it shows the last X posts, and so the Misfits embeds load on the modify page.)

I’m really not sure how much I like punk. I think I like it a lot, but (like most things) I think I’m really picky about what punk I like. I haven’t heard much that I like, but then again I haven’t heard that much that I know of.
Misfits is just so damn good. Cause I grew up on oldies (and 90s grunge/alt) and it reminds me of that (not referring to the grunge/alt) so much, but some kind of hardcore, zombie version. And Danzig’s voice is nuts. And then the subject matter is pretty unique for what I listen to and pretty entertaining lol.
Misfits are in the pantheon… Haven’t listened to them in ages, but they’re there.
My random bouts of insomnia paid off tonight… was watching Coachella live stream. I saw some really great stuff, but only took screen caps when AF ended their show… They ended with Wake Up, then did an three song encore,finally finishing with Sprawl II… Was really good vibe to the show… here’s where they dropped giant balloons on the crowd that later became part of the light show spread across the entire audience… The balloons had LEDs in them that changed colors in sync with the music.
Just realized I didnt take a good capture of it, but they keyed the lightshow on the crowd. Turned the audience into a giant multi colored light brite.
