Official NNN Game of Thrones (HBO) thread

Littlefinger will come to Jon/Sansa’s aid because that’s part of his plan, whether Sansa likes it or not. With Lord Robyn on his side FL will feel safe even if Brienne is standing behind him.
I don’t know if the writers will go this way, but it would be pretty easy for Sansa to turn the teenage boy Lord Robyn against Littlefinger.

I wonder if that’s how Littlefinger goes down, upended by someone he tutored in the art of scheming.
I’m almost 95% on-board with Sansa upending LF. I think it’s one of the more obvious plot-line endings on GoT (books and TV); so it may get blown out of the water in the end for a surprise.

Best way for Sansa to get Sweet Robyn on her side is to whip one out for him like mommy used to… ???

One of my favorite (if sad) moments last night was Summer dying… the end of summer. Well done GoT.

Nice catch.

question I had from last night was how did the dragonglass (used by the tree people to create the whitewalker king) get placed atop of the wall? Didn’t Sam/Jon find it?

Nice catch.
How much will it suck when Bran and Meera are running from WW Hodor and WW Summer?

The Night’s Watch found a cache of dragon glass weapons on the Fist of the First Men. Way back when Jeor Mormont was still Lord Commander and led them on a ranging.

Nice catch.
Technically they would be undead/wights, not WW. WW Hodor (or Wun Wen) would be absolutely terrifying.

Pretty sure Summer was blown up by the child’s hand grenade. Hodor, on the other hand…he’s gonna be a-walkin, i suspect.

clt says get over it jabronis, Mike Thorne is not coming back here. No need to devote a thread on the chat board to him.

FTW!

I think I figured a couple of things out. White text for speculation/spoilers:

Aerys II did hear voices. He heard the Bloodraven. Aka Brynden Rivers. Rivers was an illegitimate Targaryen. As the greenseer, he knew of the white walker threat and wanted to warn Aerys, his relative, to save him and the rest of the kingdom.

Only he botched it, badly, much as Bran did with Hodor. It’s quite possible that he botched more than that, but regardless, he caused much pain and set all of these events in motion. All of the misery and upheaval we have been watching was because he was meddling with his greenseer powers.

So when Bran calls out to Ned, Brynden’s facial reaction is noticeable. He doesn’t want Bran to make the same mistakes he did - he is clearly not ready for it.

I suspect that Bran is going to do more harm as he discovers his powers. Starting with going back to the Tower of Joy (as soon as he is capable), now that Brynden isn’t there to stop him. That may even be the finale of this season. He may even end up playing a hand in what happens there, for the worse.

In his guilt, and to save the world, he is going to end up sacrificing himself, IMO. He’s destined to become a martyr, and while we may have a 3 headed dragon, Bran is going to be key to the end of the war - to fix what the Children did thousands of years ago.

Going even further, he may end up removing magic from the world, because it is simply too dangerous

Also, on a much lesser note, I finally figured out why the Umbers turned Osha and Rickon over to Ramsay. Its part of a plot by the Umbers to take Winterfell back. Osha was there to watch over Rickon and take a shot at Ramsay if she could (failed). But ultimately, the Umbers are gonna flip on Ramsay and install a Stark (Rickon?) as the Lord of Winterfell.

:o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

I’m loving the new hot chicks on the show. Kinvara is smoking:

Then there was the younger actress in the play who went topless:

They’ve both been in other things. Couldn’t place either though.

Kinvara reminded me of Rachel Weisz.

Maybe that’s what I was thinking

No discussion of this week’s episode yet?

 • Benjen lives! (kinda)
 • Burn them all!
 • Dany is turning into a crazy villain!
 • Tommen is still impressionable!
 • Jaime can ride a horse up the stairs!
 • Walder Frey is still a dick!
 • Sam’s mom is a milf!
 • Arya has a name, and a stalker!

After teasing the tower of joy a couple of times so far this season, its become evident that they are going to drag that out for as long as possible.

Another setup episode, which is painful to watch on a weekly release schedule, but much easier to deal with in binge mode.

Did non-book readers understand why Dany road Drogon to the Dothraki and delivered that speech? In case it wasn’t clear, it was because the Dothraki hate boats and are terrified of the ocean. She needed to make a statement to them that would overcome their fears and make them do something they have never done in their culture’s history. That’s why she was screaming about crossing the sea, etc.

A lot of debate about whether Benjen is or isn’t Coldhands. I don’t think it matters. He seems to be filling that role in the show, to what end we aren’t sure, but he is potentially a big deal. It isn’t like the good guys were ever gonna capture a White Walker alive. Benjen isn’t one, but he is nearly the same thing. Intel. Also, it is past time for the handful of people who know about the White Walkers to convene a strategy session with the powers that be. Think about it - the only people that actually know are Bran, Jon, Benjen, Edd, Meera and some Wildlings. That is ridiculous. They are about to be invaded and there hasn’t been a marshaling of forces and sharing of intel. Benjen can probably offer a lot.

Also, Sam stealing Heartsbane is a big deal. I had to think for a while about why he did it. From the show’s perspective, it potentially gets another of the oh so rare Valyrian steel swords to the Wall, and perhaps it brings Randall Tarly to the Wall too (an excellent commander and ridiculously good soldier). That may be Sam’s motivation too. I’m not sure. If he is really heading to Oldtown though, that seems less likely. On a side note, I really wanna see Oldtown. Even GRRM hasn’t done much with it. The entire Reach has been barely touched. Anyone else wanna see HighGarden (if you thought Horn Hall - the Tarly castle - was beautiful, Highgarden is even more ridiculous, almost Disney esque).

I don’t know what Tommen switching allegiances to the church is going to do. I still think Dany and/or Drone is gonna sack Kings Landing while all these idiots are squabbling. I think Ellaria Sand is currently marching or sailing the entire Dornish army right up to their doorstep so she can take stick her foot up the ass of every Lannister left. And if Mace Tyrell is Kings Landing’s military leader (since Jaime is being run off) - that is going to end badly. The High Sparrow can try his BS against Ellaria Sand - she’ll just stab him in the face and smirk as he bleeds out.
