It will be really cool to take one of these photos and then look at the same vantage a few years down the line and GADOOSH there’s an epic football stadium from nothing.

Anyone know what the Arizona desert rock formation lookin field remnants are in 49FBN’s pics?
It looked like sprinklers or something sticking out of them when I road by the other day…soo old irrigation system? idk just a guess

Was my guess as well.

The placement of them seems too random and deep to be sprinklers. My guess is they’re pipes they drove last fall looking for bedrock.

The webcam has finally arrived!!!

Gosh that’s a pretty good camera.

LOL, click Time Lapse

Who knows how to make an animated .gif? We will need one of daily updates on the day it’s finished.

First person to set up a tailgate in one of the spaces on camera, and then post it here wins.

There are websites that will do it… did it once before. Just google it.

Haha also my thinking as to why it wouldn’t be sprinklers.

Damn this webcam is fucking baller. I don’t even feel like I need to go down there and see it anymore lol. I zoomed in and looked at everything I wanted.

Messing with those webcams gill linked has me spoiled tho. I keep wanting to turn this one haha. Nonetheless only thing that could really make the cam better is more refreshes.

Now we have two “stadium construction” webcams.

Looks like they’ve dug out right next to what remains of the parking lot.

Question for you “construction guys”. How long will all this “groundwork” take. In other words, when can we expect to see the stadium itself start to rise from the ground? September, October, November… ??? ?

They still haven’t dug out the bowl yet. They lay sewer and water pipe first. Remember, we’re putting in the “internal” infrastructure for a 40,000 seat stadium. I’d say till end of summer before construction of the football center begins in earnest.

Excellent observations - The main bones and innards of the stadium must support 40,000 people.

OT: I’ve been goink to the construction cam for some really nice sunrise and sunset pics - God’s country is beautiful.

Watch this Akron stadium building vid: Infocision Stadium west stands and pressbox construction slideshow montage

It runs from Feb '08 to Sept. '09. I tried to get a feel of the timeline by the changing seasons, but it’s pretty hard to tell. From the snow at 3:38, that’s probably around Feb '09

“Groundwork” tends to drag. Our groundwork will likely be different from theirs, though. For one thing, I doubt you’ll see any pile driving equipment given our shallow bedrock. Which is a good thing, actually.

Once you see the framework rise from the ground, the speed seems to really pick up. Anyone who has ever driven past a construction site on a regular basis can vouch for that. Note the speed of Akron’s construction once it ‘starts to rise out of the ground’, especially when you think of all the s*** that’s going on.

Don’t know if it has been mentioned yet but OxBlue has a free iphone app.

Has the timelapse option (once they get it going) and weather data as well as the current and calendar views.

Download and launch, then enter “rodgersbuilders/charlotte49ers” in the box.

Time lapse started today, aka, there’s 1 picture.

Wow, 1 day’s worth of dirt! :))
