My complaint is more along the lines that there’s nothing new to see here. You’re right, it looks just like the stuff they put out with Evergreen, so this is not really anything new at all.
Also, there’s only two pictures? Two? No idea how much these renderings cost, but it seems like we’re really struggling if we can only put out no more than just two of them.
So concrete is up but everything else is down or flat from last year?
And our main design component… Concrete.
Well screw it. I MIGHT get shade from it.
Then again, they might change everything under the shade to a new giving level and price my ass out all together.
Yea! Go Niners!
And this is another reason we HAVE to find new sources of revenue. We can’t keep just jacking up the prices for existing folks. They already lost me on basketball given the state of the game and our program and the pricing. All of us have a limit - no matter how much we love the Niners.
clt suggests shade+ seating. Green Jacket members can move to any seat desired due to shade status
A source of funding would be winning.
I get NWAs point. We need to tap the deep pockets downtown, but we also need to start winning in a revenue sport. That’ll loosen the chains on those wallets and open doors to boardrooms.
If I’m honest, it seems like it wouldn’t be stupid to allocate some more NIL $ to basketball and use success there as a springboard for football fundraising. You potentially get much more bang for your buck on the basketball court.
I do believe you just made a post on the NIL Compensation thread that shows why diverting NIL to Mens Basketball might not work so well for us. We ain’t paying no one $10.5m to play roundball. Any ball, for that matter.
Id counter with are we sure winning frees cash up? Certainly it helps the case, but if we cant sell deep money on being a change agent to help us START winning I am not convinced we can do it if we are winning. I think winning helps the smaller donors get on board, but big ones - we should be able to make the case and close the deal. You have to be able to do that before the winning comes.
We did win and basketball and money don’t exactly come dumping in. Given Judy wasn’t the best at it anyway. But still.
When the big 40 or so schools break off our current stadium will be fine. Use the money elsewhere. JMHO
Fair point. But we can get more mileage from paying a handful of guys a bit less than that, than trying to divy up a similar pot amongst 85 players or whatever the new football roster limits are.
Football has increased from 85 to 105 scholarship players, with latter also the new roster cap.
Looking through the new expansion photo by my count it includes:
-10 New Suites
-2 Covered Balconies
-1 Massive Club Level
-14 Rows of Ledge Seating
-12 Loge Boxes
-500 Gold Level FSL Seats
-1500 Green Level FSL Seats
Reading that the school estimates 2 million in new annual revenue.
Coincidental timing that the rendering is released shortly after we started joking about a lack of rendering on this board.
FEATURES OF THE NEW UPPER DECK There will be club seats — featuring access to the suite pictured above — in the middle of the upper deck. A “ledge seating” option will be in the sections on both sides of the club seats. Those ledge seats will have a table-top, like a bar, in front of them. Loge boxes, premium four-seat cubes, with amenities will also be atop this new monstrosity. Seven suites, in addition to the university box, will be all the way at the top of the upper deck. A standing-room-only patio club, which will have some seating but be more of a sports bar-like atmosphere, will also be on the upper deck. The sections on the far sides of the new upper deck? Those will be considered general public seating, which will include both season and single-game tickets.

I Know all of these amenities drive a lot of folks. I guess I’m just too basic.! Give me a seat outside and I’m good. The only thing I think is nice is a little protection from the elements. I don’t need tables and screens and food service and indoor seating etc
What’s the ballpark they are looking at, how many thousands?
an article from 2019 about ECUs suite costs stated their are $20,000-100,000 per season with a 10 year commitment. I assume ours would probably be similar to what they are charging.
We do have a lot fewer than they do though, so I could see it being on the higher end of that.
Yeah, I’ll take a lower row, upper level, 40 to 50 yard line and I’m good to go. I like how the stadium looks as long as the other side gets complete!
It does sound like they intend on finishing the other side as the money comes in. Glad to hear it won’t look like JMU forever.
