Hunter said on the podcast that the Carolina Panthers tried to give their old practice bubble to Charlotte football but the school said they did not have enough space or enough money to keep the practice bubble up and running. ![]()
How much money does it costs to keep a bubble up and running? I have no idea, but it does not seem like that big of cost. I would think we would have plenty of space somewhere since an IPF is already on the plans.
clt says there is a global helium shortage
If true—–that is enough reason to have fired Hill right there.
I am not saying it is true but I have heard the same story for others. Maybe maintaining a practice bubble is more costly than I would imagine? I think Mike Hill was a good administrator but that isn’t the job anymore. We need a fund raiser in the worst way. Many of our donors including this one can’t do much more.
I’ll ask around and see what I can find out.
Just a thought, it could have cost more in up keep than they deemed it was worth and the money would be better spent other ways.
Limited funds force difficult decisions. It’s also where before NIL some of that money would have been channeled to facilities like that.
Stated elsewhere that the bubble is/was only a half field and would take up more than 1 full sized practice field that the team would then lose. Costs to set it up were prohibitive so they sold it.
clt says that hole looks better than many other stadia in the carolinas
That’s the first picture I’ve seen of any construction work going on at the stadium since they started back in September.
They stripped the brick facade off those two buildings almost right away. Hadn’t seen anything since until this.
I’ll try and get some more pictures into basketball season!
It’s called a brick veneer.
Great, something we can finally see!
clt hopes they got all of the kids out of the bounce house before that started
I could have found a use for that metal fencing that they tore down with a dozer !
