Seriously, if someone offered me a 9-4 start this year after 10 wins all of last year (yes, i know there were some weird circumstances with that team, but still), I’d take it and run with a grin on my face!

Even with all the crap from last year we were still 8-6 OOC, so I don’t think 9-4 or even 10-3 is that much of stretch.

Oh, I dont think its a stretch, just saying I’ll take it.

Yes, we were better OOC than in conf last year, but had Jones available for almost all those games, and Spears available for some as well.

For what its worth, I think we will be better later in the year than earlier in the year, just have to hope for no injuries or academic casulties this year.

I usually take a crack at this, but I have no idea. The schedule isn’t difficult, but we have 7 players that haven’t played a game for us yet and only 3 starters returning from a 10-20 team. We should be much improved with the young talent and depth we’ve added, but as young and new as our guys will be they will likely have some growing pains. It’s hard to make predictions with this many newbies because you don’t know what their weaknesses are.

We’ll end up splitting the ECU/Davidson games I fear, lose at Memphis and probably lose at home to Miami. If the news guys can contribute quickly, hopefully 12-1 but I fear closer to 10-3.

Edit-didn’t realize we’re playing AT Wright State, that’ll be tough, could be 9-4 then.

i think we should beat miami, especially at home. they lost reggie johnson, their best player, for most of the season, as well as julian gamle, another frontcourt player and starter dequan jones may not be eligible. i fear the ecu game. that is a tough place to play and they are improving. davidson will be solid, but they lost the guy that hurt us last season in mckillop. wright state graduated all of those players that hurt us last season to graduation.

BTW, this will be the first time we’ve faced a Murry Bartow-coached team since our days in C-USA. Bucs hold a 2-1 edge over the Niners in the series, with the last meeting coming during the 1990-91 season when they beat us 96-80 in the Mine Shaft.

If we lose to Davidson this year - my senior year and last year in 104 - then I will physically attack you all.

I predict the Davidson game to be closer than the Wright State game, which some of you predicted us losing. We beat Wright State last year, and they’re losing some people. Davidson beat us 68 to 82 and they aren’t losing anyone important.

We do have the home crowd, and we do have some good new players, but I just don’t see us being better than 9 and 4 and I couldn’t decide between losing to Miami or losing to Davidson, and I just feel like Davidson matches up better against us. I hope we massacre both teams.
