Opening day...

Is here (uh-huh). Any baseball fans out there? This is the year the Braves start the new streak of owning the East. :toast:

I’m an Angels fan. I have no real strong or negative feelings about the Braves, although the little Indian tomahawk chop thing can get irritating.

I hate the Orioles though, and they’re close, so that’s something.

I’m telling you guys, cricket is the way to go…
I’m telling you guys, cricket is the way to go…
cricket? really?

Come on bust, you can’t hate baseball. BASEBALL. It’s not the most exciting sport in the world, but, I mean, BASEBALL. BASEBALL.

I’ve never seen cricket before, but I’ve heard it’s entertaining.

I’ve heard from people who have watched cricket that it is the most boring, drawn out sporting event of all time. It makes Baseball seem like a fast paced Suns/Mavs game from this year.

I want to get excited about opening day, but its gloomy out up here and Carl Pavano is my team’s opening day starter.

OUCH.

I am a Seattle Mariners fan ever since living out there in 2001 during the 116 win season. Its been tough following those guys the past 3 years though but I still enjoy watching Ichiro play.

I also will be keeping my eye on the Reds this season with the Josh Hamilton story. The kid is from Raleigh Athens Drive HS and to say he has overcome some bumps in the road is quite an understatement. I was at the Reds/Rays spring game this past Friday in Sarasota. The Reds are picked last in the central but I think they can surprise some folks…Jr looks comfortable in right.

To heck w/ MLB.
Let’s go Knights! Win the IL!

Baseball season already? The only good thing about baseball is that it is so boring I don’t pay attention to it and I can actually enjoy the summer.

I’m a HUGE Mets fan. We are stacked this year, better on paper than last year. Too bad Braves fans.

Good call on Josh Hamilton. I, too, am also very interested to see how he does.

Bottom line on baseball & today…

sure, a lot of people find baseball to be boring…so what, I can’t worry about other people’s shortcomings.

sure, it would suck to have Carl Pavano be my team’s starter…but your starters have generally sucked for awhile now…you should be getting used to it.

If you are a baseball fan and NOT excited about today (last night was the “TV start” to the season)…you need help.

I’ve attended 3 Opening Days (all in Detroit…when the team truely sucked)…but those days rate as some of the most fun I’ve ever had at a sporting event. The 1st two times was me & some buddies drinking beer all morning before the 1pm 1st pitch. The other was with my son (he was still tball age).

Opening Day is only place where all of those things fit together.

For the record, the Tigers will lose in the ALCS this season.

other than John Maine…your team SUCKS.

(ok, Reyes, Wright & LoDuca are respectible)

26 and counting. Nough said.

I’ll admit the pitching hasn’t been up to par lately, but that is the case in all of MLB these days.

The problem is Pavano got paid bigtime and hasn’t started a game since 05. Not only that he just broke up with his smoking girlfriend and she made comments along the lines of their relationship was worse than his pitching…

the Oakland Athletics… consistently do the most with the least on their roster.

Ok… now we have proof that Carl can’t pitch AND is stupid.

Just remember, life could be worse…you could’ve had Jaret Wright starting.
