OT: Coach firing time

Well, if Heath ends up at USF – which is looking more and more likely – he may be bringing SEC FOY Patrick Beverly with him…

TBO.com: Heath, Woolard Meet

Woolard will meet with Heath

BTW, Gillispie staying at TAMU, SC State fires Jamal Brown, and Tom Penders gets an extension at Houston.

It is very possible that mike montgomery could be announced as head coach at Arkansas as early as today.

Belien is #1 candidate for the Michigan job, WVU looked good last night, i love their system. They shoot 3’s like we do, but they work for the shot, not resort to it, and they play D.

i was wrong, Arkansas hire’s creighton’s Altman.

Heath gets the job at USF.

“Gets”? From what I have heard, no one gets the job at USF.

Stan is the man…no bull!

GoUSFBullscom: USF To Name Stan Heath Head Men’s Basketball Coach Tuesday

TBO.com: Heath New USF Coach

ESPN.com: Heath named South Florida coach

Good for Heath. He sounds like a solid coach who had Arkansas headed in the right direction. His firing at Arkanasas sounds like another typical story of a school with over-inflated expectations. Not that altman is not a good coach, but he’ll have a pretty easy job of taking the talent that Heath built into the second round or better next year. Of course Altman will look like a hero. I hope Heath does very well at USF.

The search continues in Olean…

BuffaloNews.com: Vermont’s Lonergan joins Bona’s search list

Oh, now that would be cool. Lonergan would be a really great hire for Bona.

I’m kinda surprised about Altman. I thought it would take a really primo job to lure him way. Like Kentucky, not Arkansas.

Anyone wanna speculate on the domino effect now? Who’s in @ WVa to start?

Altman pulls a Marshall:

:shades:

altman’s not going anywhere now, not for a while. What marshall did was a blip in the media, screwing a top SEC program is a whole new ball game.

I went on a Bonaventure board and they were flipping their lids over the Albany coach. He went on the radio in Albany and said he was told by other coaches that it could be career suicide to take the Bona job. (And it probably is).

The A-10 … it’s FAN-tastic!
In all fairness, he pulled a Cremins…
And a John Kresse (CofC to Davidson and back to CofC, where he retired), Gregg Marshall (Winthrop to CofC and back to WU), Dan Dakich (Bowling Green to West Virginia and back to BGSU and now out of a job!), Rick Majerus accepting the USC position and then quitting a week later citing “health” issues, etc…

Bona now looking at a guy with A-10 experience.

PostGazette.com: RMU’s Schmidt is on St. Bonaventure’s list

Also, Jeff Bzdelik leaves AFA for Colorado and ex-Seton Hall coach Louis Orr is headed to Bowling Green.

I guess after they found out he snorted his dad’s ashes, they had no choice…

Long list at WVU as well.
