Never have the Panthers had back to back winning seasons. I am a diehard fan of them too but I see the Panthers as a five hundred team, 9-7 if they are lucky. I too hope to be proven wrong.
Peppers is a freak. That is height—not “size” (ie; there is a difference, especially when talking about defensive ends). Both Peppers and Brayton are 5-6 inches taller, but only 20+ lbs. heavier.

Either way, that height makes a difference, and reporters have stated that is why he fell to the 2nd (One example: http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcwest/post/_/id/2356/best-case-scenario-49ers-with-no-10-pick). I've heard he has been getting man handled by bigger offensive linemen, e.g. Otah.
I’d like to see how well he does against the run this year.

I wouldn’t say he’s getting man-handled. He definitely does have some learning to do on defending the run, but it’s not like he’s getting decimated. With the rotation of players on the line, he should be fresh enough for the game to take on bigger players.
And Otah is not your prototypical tackle. He’s a freak of nature. Not many ends look good against him.

He was brought in for the pass rush. They’ll probably use Brayton or Johnson on rushing downs…at least at the start unless he wins the job and shows he’s instantly capable. Either way getting a defensive end in the 2nd round of his caliber is a steal.
I know they traded their first round, but did they put any restrictions on it? I know sometimes teams do a thing where if the pick is a top 10 pick, then it moves to the next year. The Panthers are probably looking at a top 10 pick.

hope so!!!
Pepper’s stock is going down though at least. He may have to take the largest pay cut in the league next year. But I’m sure some stupid team will still pay him out the waaazzzoooo, better not be us! especially if there is no cap.

That is only in the NBA… Marty Hurney is a complete idiot for this move and should be fired… With the bye week looming I’d love to see a shake up.
Meeks is terrible. The game plan is awful- the team can’t make adjustments let alone tackle. How many time does Choice or Jones have to hit that draw for 9+ before you figure it out? In a off season of failures, hiring Meeks seems to be one of the biggest.
Davidson is ill prepared to be a OC in the NFL. His game plans are horrid. The offensive line has taken 10 steps back.
The entire organization needs a shake up from the top down- I hope we see wholesale changes fromt eh GM down after this season.
