I talked to Kelly Weatherman in the Athletic Foundation. The hotel package/rates quoted in the email from the 49er club is from the tournament’s Official Travel Agency (Basketball Travelers, Inc.). There are better rates available but rooms are going fast because Agencies like Basketball Travelers buy rooms in advance.

Anyways, the rates offered by Changes.com for Marriott Frenchman’s Reef Resort are the best I found.

The package offered by Basketball Travelers isn’t that bad considering you can get Waterview room, tickets, plus transportation to and from tournament and airport.

I want to go.
I wonder if the former asst. coach, now head coach at Winthrop will learn to pay his delinquent rent bills from 2003 by then.

Wonder why they didn’t match Winthrop against MArshall and the Shockers in the first round?? As it is they would only play in the finals.

Whatever man, you didnt just go by Jim’s ā€œcluesā€. You were so desperate to be right that you made of a bunch of Kummer quotes to make yourself look right.

Lefty had this nailed weeks ago.

I find it interesting that we have a nice, intriguing schedule next year, BUT we have a team that does not appear to have anywhere near the talent to compete well in it. Ahhh, timing. This time next year we’ll be sitting here awash in the mediocrity that has haunted NINER ball forever. Why don’t we get these kinds of games in those rare years when we have pretty good teams? Going 0-3 or 0-4 next year against the ACC will only more solidify this rap on us (especially locally). DANG!

I want to know WTF our piss poor athletic program won’t nut up and make these home games…HOME games! I absolutely hate the idea of playing these games downtown!

And that is an excellent question… for another thread. Like this one.

 1. The acc opponents want to get some experience in Bobcat Arena.
 2. Most of these teams refuse to come to Halton.
 3. If you had read the Observer during the past 10 years, you would have known about #2.
