Even though I hate to say it, especially since CH has ā€œrelativelyā€ underperformed in football based on itā€™s expectations; a win against the Great Satan will do more for us than five wins against App.

This is like asking would people rather beat unc-ch or Georgia. There should be only 1 choice for the betterment of the program. Some peopleā€™s hate must be next level. However if both were ranked within 10 of each other, Iā€™d prob choose unc-ch. Iā€™m assuming Georgia is top 5.

Iā€™d assume unc-ch is a top 25 team this year and app is no where near. Why would t you want to beat a top 25 team?

I disagree completely.

Chapel Hill has no football pedigree of note and we will not be playing them again in the near future or ever.

App St. is a natural rival who we will be playing a lot in the future and who we have not beaten yet.

We need that App. State scalp on our wall.

Of course UNC-Ch is the bigger name but I think itā€™s better for our program to beat App

Iā€™m at the point I donā€™t want to play chapel
Hill in anything. So Iā€™d like to beat them but whatever, the refs arenā€™t going to let it happen. We get screwed every time we play them in any sport.

We are playing app consistently over the next 5 years. A win there brings even more heat to this game and makes this a legit rivalry for us to build our fanbase in over the next decade.

A chapel hill win is a flash in the pan and not the equivalent of a program defining win because they arenā€™t that good. Itā€™s a nice to have. Beating app and adding fuel to rivalry is a must have.

Also App is the most consistent football program in the state over the last 15+ years.

I know weā€™ve sucked basically our entire existence, and app has been good but a rivalry with them does nothing for me

If we beat cheat, it will be seen as a big upset or outright fluke. We wonā€™t be viewed as having passed them.
