Poll: Your feelings about UNC-CH

One Question. Other than trying to convince us we should all like chapel hill, what other posts has this jj2004 poster made?

If he is a Niner fan like he says he is, why do I not remember him joining in any Niner related discussions about our teams?

I hope when I'm in my late 30s and have a couple of kids that I don't spend all my time bashing people on a message board.

Oh my God…

Not to mention Chapel Hill's lack of concern fubar-ing ours and ECU's conference. And their bickering when we joined CUSA.
I have heard from some pretty reliable (and unrelated) sources that certain parties at the Observer were very vocally opposed to us joining CUSA, presumably because we were not supposed to be in a conference that would compete with the acc. (It was too bad CUSA failed to live up to expectations in those early years)
Maybe the guy had a significant event happen to him when he got he post grad? Maybe he met his wife there, maybe he had a kid while in school? Who knows. A million things could have happened to a person to lead them to have a stronger connection to one school over the other.

He said he cheers for both teams, and in the rare chance his 2 schools ever played, he would make a decision to root for the team it helped the best. That seems reasonable enough.

I was going to say football, but…

I’ll put it like this, half the reason teams/schools are so famous, is b/c there are people, like here on this board who make them INFAMOUS.

Because of this thread, all you do is feed the monster that you so hate, by providing more and more exposure and discussion about it.

The guy has two degrees… I totally agree with Cass on this easily.

I just read every one of his posts. Over HALF of his posts are in either this thread or the thread with the gay tarhole goat. As I’m sure you know, he is defending the tarholes in possibly every post in these 2 threads.

In his other posts, he has posted in a couple of recruiting threads, but quess what… He has somehow managed to mention the tarholes in many of those posts too. In one or two, he mentions the “tarhole hate” and in a couple others, he mentions the Niners not being worthy.

He only posts about his tarholes. Nowhere does he state he wants the Niners to do well.

People never cheer for their grad school OVER their first love

I’m on a roll…so I might as well keep going…

With my cousin...I have no clue. You might be right. But for my wife, I can say that she has a greater emotional attachment to Charlotte than Western. It has little to do with the level of play, cause she could really give 2 ****s about most sports. Its all about the fact that she had more big time "life events" happen while at Charlotte.

I totally get the UNC-CH hate. Totally get it. I hate the school, the wal-mart fans, everything. But I dont understand the need to rail on a guy for cheering for 2 schools that he attended. He’s both a tarheel and niner fan because he is both a tarheel and a niner. Its more common than people like Metro, with his endless string of arbitrary rules, might believe.

Agreed. But I think what stings the most is saying that he would pull for UNC-CH over the Niners. (and for not recognizing how UNC-ch can hinder the Niners)

I hope when I'm in my late 30s and have a couple of kids that I don't spend all my time bashing people on a message board.

God forbid we have a rabid fan who pleads green. I’m hoping there are more of them when you’re in your 30s.

Metro. Where are you from? Are you from the state of North Carolina? Did you grow up a Charlotte fan? If so, then good for you. I grew up a Tar Heel fan. Most kids in this state grow up a Tar Heel or State or Dook fan unless they have parents/family that went to another school. When I got to Charlotte, I became a Charlotte fan. I still enjoyed seeing the Tar Heels do well, but I was a Charlotte fan. After Charlotte, I was fortunate enough to get into Chapel Hill. Why would I not have just as much allegiance to a school that I cheered for as a fan for the first 18 years of my life and then spent three years attending? I was in school at Chapel Hill with a lot of students that went to undergrad elsewhere and I can guarauntee you that I'm not the only one that cheers hard for the Tar Heels.
I went to Prov High in CLT. Loved UNC-CH growing up. As a Niner athlete, slowly realized how they affected our program negatively. More so, in my life I realize the arrogance of every Chapel Hill grad. They can't credit any other school but their own. Everything in their mind is second rate to them if its not Tarheel.

Of course numerous events have transpired such as the 2 former presidents of the UNC system coming on our campus belittling us. So at age 35- I completely hate UNC-CH.

According to your anology, I’m sure he created this, too.

still trying to shake the most hated poster on NNN label off yourself ehh?

I am not threatening you as you like to claim dweeb…but keep the comments at a level that you would say in person.

Agreed. But I think what stings the most is saying that he would pull for UNC-CH over the Niners. (and for not recognizing how UNC-ch can hinder the Niners)

Bingo

Not sure that was an analogy. Though the pic is still just as bothersome.

I agree with whoever said that it is not worth talking about chapel hill on our board. It seems regressive unless there is something specific that is happening.

You’ve got a strong point there, Metro. I could recall Jungle Rat, Crapwins. . . etc. I meant Catwins.

Please tell me your not saying my post was soft.

I was just pointing out an error in 89’s post, giving him props, then making an observation on the thread in general.
Not sure how that is soft.
