Hey moronâŚwho do you think got Moss his job???
Bobby certainly gave Benny a glowing recommendation but Benny had a previous history with the former UNCW athletic director Mike Capiccio. In fact, he was probably no better than #4 on their initial list. The rumor mill had Tim Miles of North Dakota State else getting the position, even being announced in the local media. UNCW assistant Byron Jones, Tim Dooley (Kansas assistant) and Rodney Terry (Texas assistant) were the others considered.
Yes and your bit*hing will continue. If we go in another direction, we have to spend money, period. Currently, I don't see that happening. And you will never think Lutz is at fault, no matter what he does or how many games we lose. Some of your post in which you defend him are laughable. People like you will always accept things as they are as long as you can avoid change. Change scares most people. I have no idea why.

Well I'm going to throw out a name...http://goredfoxes.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl/mtt/brady_matt01.html
He knows the A-10 with years under Martelli at St. Joeâs and knows how to utilize the point guard position.
Last year they had a PG named Jared Jordan who averaged over 10 assists agame and wasnât half the athlete that Gerrity is. Jordan ended up being drafted in the 2nd round and was traded from the Clippers to the Knicks. He would able to connect our program to the fertile recruiting grounds of the northeast, where there isnât an ACC bias and the A10 is looked fairly well upon.
His Marist teams have improved each year he has been coach and he has been able to get some talent there.
He also recruited Delonte West of the Seattle Sonics, Eddie Basdenâs former HS teammate. So he knows the DC area as well, a place we have had some success recruiting as well.
Holy crap - you must have a giant hard-on for the MAAC conference. Werenât you the guy that desperately tried to get Charlotte to pick up that fired, disgraced MAAC coach that guided his team to a 2-28 record last year? Jesus, Marist has already lost 8 more games than last year and the season isnât even over yet. They just lost 5 of their last 6 MAAC games.
At least your coaching selections are slowly improving. Hopefully, in a few years, you will think enough of Charlotte to think that we are deserving enough for a North Dakota State assistant. :lmao:
Change scares most people. I have no idea why.
Youâre saying this picture doesnât scare you? All those dead guys staring back at you?
:scared: You are a braver man than IâŚ
Hey moron....who do you think got Moss his job??? You people are ignorant. I can only hope and pray that Bobby tells us all to kiss his a** and then I hope we do get stuck with someone like Sidney Lowe/Matt D.
I might listen to what you say if you had approached this with any civility. If you really are a ninerdad, then one would hope you had enough smarts to put together a valid argument on a message board⌠how the hell do you raise a child?
Then you will appreciate what Bobby did for us. Our team is still 14-11 which is a winning record.....
You have the winning spirit of Chuck Amato.
The rumor mill had Tim Miles of North Dakota State getting the position
Thatâs amazing. I said North Dakota State as a joke and, as Iâm typing, HP informs me that he nearly got a promotion to a university North Carolina. Weird.
Just for the record, NinerDad is a pretty cool dude. His kid is a trooper. His wife is awesome, I think she came on here a couple times and told us off LoL.
I am hopeful for the next two years at this point. Bobby has a lot of support, more support then desent at this point. If we dontâ make the tournament the next two years, something tells me that will change. Or we will be told just to wait, the next great recruit is on itâs way?
I am taking into account that these guys are young. I just canât forget the past 3 seasons so quickly. I donât feel the problems we have had are so much the A-10. I just donât buy it. Lutz is here for probably 5 more years, if he doesnât improve in the next 3 years, he may actually get fired at that point. I think he will get an extension soon. People and particuarly fans are never comfortable letting a coach go, particuarly one has succeeded here before. Some Wake Forest fans panicked when they didnât re-sign Dave Odom in 2001, and this was after he had led them to the NCAA tournament. They survived and I think itâs unrealistic to think that the program will collapse without Bobby here. Hopefully he gets things turned around. I wish I were as confident as some on here are. But I think weâre capable of better and I question how much better weâre going to get with him here. This fear that if we get another coach they will leave is understandable. But I can assure you if the right job came along Bobby would take it.
The funny thing is ... we were a free throw away in regulation from having 5 threads praising Lutz for his fine coaching against a tricky opponent like Richmond. After the 1st half, Utter said that the team looked well coached and fundamentally sound as ever and Wilderness and Mack both had great games. Not everybody. Some of us have been disagreeing with Bobbyâs coaching style for years. Some people will never hold him accountable. Yes, others change their mind weekly. These are the ones I donât get. We all knew what we were going to get from Bobby before this season started. Iâm guessing the two victories against the ACC teams, carries a lot more weight with the fence straddlers than the losses to Monmouth and Hofstra. In fact, with Lutzâs coaching milestone - I would think there would be even more than 5 threads praising Lutz. One free throw. Not a lot of gray areas regarding coaching with our fanbase ⌠everything is either pitch black or blindingly white.

I think it definently carries more weight, rightly or wrongly. If you switch out those to losses and wins over Hofstra and Monmouth, the mood would possibly be different.
KELVIN SAMPSON! (clap, clap, clap clap clap)

Sorry but looking at your username makes your post illegible to me, Just get the FREAKIN UNC-R out of your username. Last time I checked this wasnât Wolfpack Nation, I believe I can supply you with a link if you need steering to the Wolfpack forums.
I donât think Bobby needs to be fired, but if he leaves/takes another job/whatever, then I would like to see Benny here!

The Jeff Ruland stuff last off season was a joke, i was never serious about him.
However, I think this guy is the real deal. They are having a so-so season due to losing their stud PG and it is not like the school is in the easiest place to recruit stud bball players to. In his first 3 years the team improved each year and he knows the A10 inside out. That is Bobbyâs biggest problem IMO, he gets outcoached game in and game out in the A10 and has never adjusted the teams style of play to fit the new conference.
The other reason I listed him is because he would be a good fit due to his A10 connections, his recruiting areas and that he would be cheaper than most of the names that will be thrown around on here.
.
I thought Iâd seen it all
I think we should get the coach from Indepedence High football team or West Charlotte. Now those two run a clean, well-oiled program. Seriously, I say we getâŚDelante Hill back. Classy guy with the ability to teach our younger recruits the virtues of integriy and character. Or we could go after Sampson from IUâŚnow thatâs a class actâŚI COULD ONLY WISH!!!
I said it when Bobby got this extension, that this is about the right time frame to make your legacy stick. I wish I still had those posts from CUSA-Talk. Bobby has one more year to prove his mettle, and if we donât make the NCAAs next year, he is going to be looking for a new job.
That is, of course, unless he gets an extension based off what weâve put on the floor this year. I still think it is funny that those of us who hadnât made up our minds about this team half way through the season were blasted. I still havenât made up my mind about this coach and the team he has on the floor. If he can get us to the NIT, I think we can still have a bright future with Lutz. I just hope and pray (even though I know it will do no good) that we become fundamentally sound.
I donât think Bobby needs to be fired, but if he leaves/takes another job/whatever, then I would like to see Benny here!
ballin, Benny is doing a great job at 18-10, 11-5, winning 9 of the last 11 games. They shot 59% for the game last night and held Ga Stateâs top scorer to 3 points (1 of 9). He was satisfied with the victory this morning but now concerned about Vermont on Saturday. The Catamounts defeated Hartford 94-82 last night. Their center, Marqus Blakely, went off for 30 points and 20 rebounds (avg 19.8 ppg, 10.8 rpg). It will be nice to spend some time with Benny on Saturday.
This team is playing every game down to the wire with 9 new guys and one senior. I am depressed about the last two weeks but if you look at preseason guesses from NNN and the professionals, we are about what we thought we would be, or ahead of the curve in this rebuilding.
Bingo.
A lot of our fans got carried away after some big OOC wins early in the season. Finishing the season where we expected to finish is depressing, especially with the flashes we saw earlier in the season, but that is were we expected to finish, and it does not qualify for your coach to be fired.
