I watched some of the Classic coverage when I got home from the game last night. I was really impressed with the whole Throwback theme. The halftime piece was pretty sweet and the other Niner history clips were great. I’m glad I taped it. The game just seemed so much more laid back than what I’m used to watching on TV. Even though some players names were pronounced wrong and the arena was called Halton Hall, then announcer did a great job. I guess Mullins straightened him up during the TO’s. Props to Mullins also. I thought he did a great job and added some history to the game. I would love to see this become an annual event. I had a great time and it seems like everyone else did too. I know it was short notice this year, but throwback unis would be great next year. The uni’s could be auctioned off after the game.
I second the idea for throwbacks! I have always been a fan of programs going back into the closet and pulling out the jerseys of yesteryear for significant games. The one problem that I could see people having with throwbacks is the UNCC name on them, but we have to remember that is where this program came from. We weren’t known as Charlotte when we went to the Final Four and until last decade that was who we were. But throwbacks should definitely be considered.
TV… huh… what? We were on TV… I didn’t even realize that.
Is there going to be an encore or re-run by any chance?

I started this thread in 2005 after the TCU game which was on ESPN Classic and they used old school graphics in their broadcast. Students dressed up in 70’s style clothes. It was a fun night.

Absolutely!
I want a name change more than anyone - but I’d love to hang a 70’s era jersey up on my wall. Or used in a throwback night. I appreciate the past but we should also look at what is best for our future!

new years resolution: I will look at thread dates before posting.
Young grasshopper 1014, this is one reason why you are a raw recruit while survivor and Mr. Bo are way up the posting ladder.

shhh, I don’t think he realizes it’s not cool anymore. He also likes it because they almost make him as tall as Lee…

In his defense IMHO as long as BDD digs his threats and his kicks is all he cares about. :shades:
Is this the game where Lutz sent Lee into foul as the 2nd half came to a close?
I believe it was the game when Eddie Basden tea bagged whoever it was for TCU…was it not?

That was Houston. I know that for sure.

Ahhhh, yes. Actually now that I think about it I remember TCU being not so terrible that year, which is kind of an anamoly. They made it closer than I liked.

BDD digs Over40. And he wishes he could get into his 70s clothing.
Who am kidding about wearing 70s clothing? I had a 28 inch waist and weighed 125 when I began college!
