Quincy Miller SF 2011

Quincy Miller is a small forward from Winston-Salem (NC) Quality Education Academy. Listed 6’8, 180 lbs

Per Rivals has plenty of offers most recentlyfrom Duke and Charlotte.

Snipit from Elite Camp Recently:
Miller likes a lot of stuff about Charlotte according to Taylor. “He likes the atmosphere and the staff,” Taylor said. “He and Coach Cheeks get along great.” Besides getting along with the coaching staff Miller also likes the facilities that Charlotte has. “It’s more of a home-style feel,” Taylor said. "Whatever school he chooses it won’t be because of size or background of history its more about where does he fit in and how well he gets along with the staff and what they expect from him and what [they can do for] him. Miller is young and there is no rush on making a decision. Until then Taylor said that the Niners fast style of play intrigues Miller and that he likes Charlotte and that Coach Cheeks did an excellent job of making him feel at home.

Sounds like we have a leg up on this kid…good size too.

Per Jerry Meyer
The more I watch and think about Miller’s game, the more I think of a young Kevin Durant. Miller has a similar body and athleticism, and has the potential to have a Durant-type skill set.
Another Kevin Durant??..Yeah…we wouldn’t mind having him…Don’t know about you folks but i’m getting VERY PUMPED for this year, and beyond! Hope i’m not deluding myself.

Will be interesting to see how this one plays out. It sounds like the Cheeks connection is solid and there is some real attraction here, but that is some seriously stiff competition. I’ll temper my expectations accordingly.

Our record and possible tourney run this year could sway his decision either way.

As an '11 recruit, Dewhurst and Wilderness will be gone, the 3 will be wide open as far as playing time goes. If there’s a good connection with Cheeks we could have a good chance at him, our style is wide open and he’ll get all the playing time he can handle with the two seniors graduating.

This will also help: winning
Winning + good prospects going forward = TV exposure
It’s up to us to level the playing field as much as we can and winning is a huge component. I laud the coaches for actively recruiting guys and getting early commitments, but they can make life a lot easier by hanging NCAA banners.

we will have Sherrill who will prob be a 3/4. Sirin will prob be a 3/4 too.

Beating out Duke for a recruit would be nice, when’s the last time that happened?

BTW, He’s #30 (#2 for NC) overall on the ESPNU’s Super 60 for 2011. Marquis Rankin is #9 and the #1 overall prospect in NC.

That is a long list of schools that have offered him. I don’t think he will be making a decision anytime soon. I imagine he is going to be checking out some other schools.

:49ers:

This guy sounds like the real deal-

2011 is a long time away.

Color me cautiously optimistic nearing pessimistic.

Kid seems like the real deal, would love to see him in green.

We beat out Duke for Kyle Church, despite their hiring father Robbie in an effort to lure him.
