I know we are incredibly disappointed with how Curt has played so far this season. But instead of talking smack about how he is overrated lets get behind the team leader and urge him on!
Think about it, Curt is obviously upset with how things have gone this far. Bobby runs the offense away from Curt. De just runs the baseline to get open and our inside game is pathetic. It is the gameplan. If you just have Curt down there posting up that doesnāt work. Lets run a play to get our most talented player the ball? And how bout taking the ball to the rim and going to the line more than ONCE!?! How many dunks have we had this year? Enough to count on 1 hand im sure.
Talk about ridiculous how bout him leading the press (i know we have discussed this issue on the board to I will not go into detail)
All im saying is Curt put the damn white headband on and go to work. How bout the student section shows up sporting the headband as well? We are on national TV we must do something to look unified? eventhough we might not be.
You are so right. Its not hard being a fan. All we have to do is show up and make noise, and yet it can helpour team a great deal. Letās do something positive.
In the online interview from last week, Curt said he realized that people only care if youāre winning. If youāre not, people hate you and could care less.
After the Valpo game, a friend of mine said she talked to Curt at a bar - and his attitude was terrible - ā**** basketball, they donāt give me the ball anymoreā he supposedly said. He again told her that people only care if you are winning.
It seems Curt is really down, and losing his love for the game. We should cheer him on every time he touches the ball, not scorn him.

Well, if thatās his attitude, heās not thinking ahead very much. At least be selfish and try to get yourself invited to NBA camps. You can only do that by bringing it every night.

IF CURT SAID THISā¦the season for this team is totally and completly screwed. I can understand āthey donāt give me the ball anymoreā, but this is not how you solve the problem.
Of course, I realize these are college kids (my alcohol consumption in college was at least 3x what it is now), but if I had āhis basketball giftā and possible future ahead of me, there is NO WAY Iād want to go to a bar after Saturdayās game. This act alone may speak volumes about this team.
Anyone else notice during the Valpo game Deāangelo had one of the guards posted in good position when Curt had the ball at the elbow. Curt looked right at him and passed the ball back to Mitchell at the top of the key. Maybe Deāangelo will get the point that if he doesnāt pass the ball to Curt in the low post then he prolly isnāt going to get it from Curt when heās in the low post.
Also, you can tell itās going to be a rough second half when your guys are shaking their heads after missing shots during warmups at half time. Itās seems the guys need to let loose and have a little fun throw a alley-oop to yourself off the shot clock or something hell throw it off the towel boys face if you have to, just at least look like your trying to have fun.
I bought the guys a round of drinks at the bar after the game, it was DA, Curt and Nance, even DA looked down, but Curt looked like a beaten man. Then the highlights for the Indiana game came on, when they beat Kentucky and they all just got quite and looked as if they already didnt have a shot.
If theres any game Curt will step up and be the curt of old it will be this next game vs. Indiana. Marquee players are known for shining during the biggest games or the most crucial times. If Curt doesnāt step up against Indiana, then⦠at least weāll have beasley in 2007.
I was told by someone the other day that we (charlotte) are a victim of hype! I thought about the points he made and he was correct.
How do u lose the conferance POY and the Nations top 3pt guy and get better? It just doesnāt happen!
Sure we bring in De and Iāll buy that he cancels out Eddie, but you cant replace Plav (a guy who is a threat to hit a 3 form anywhere on the floor) which in return forced defenders to guard him way out there which in return left more room in the middle for Curt to work.
Point is these guys made Curt better! Iām not seeing how Lee and De are making Curt better?
I just think that it is so crucial for the rest of the season that we show Curt our support and make him realize we have not given up on the season, like others have said if he throws in the towel haha to quote a certain announcer āstick a fork in them baby, they are DONE!ā
I will definitely say that I feel like Iāve given up on our team. I know itās still early in the season but from what Iāve heard and read, we seem like a complete mess.
However, a lot of that has to do with the fact that Iām not in Charlotte. Take it from me and every one of the other out of towners, if we could be there cheering our team on, we would. Heck, I drove 3 hrs last year to watch us lose at USF and when our guys walked off the court I was screaming for them to keep their heads up because we had more games to playā¦
What Iām saying is I agree with this thread - support Curt and the rest of the team. Cheer them on. Griping and bitching is what this forum and things like Lutz Live are for - if we get to 5-20, then show up with paper bags on your heads or something, but keep cheering our boys on. They deserve that much.
OK, Iām off to see George Clinton. Maybe Iāll get him to bless the Niners with some mystified funk juice.

Oh great, the famous āI heard so and so was out in at a bar and I heard he saidā¦ā. Nothing as reliable as āthe friend in the barā third hand information because nothing ever gets distorted as it is passed along and nobody ever embellishes stuff said in a night out drinking.
I have talked to Curt many times over the years and I can almost promise that he would never say anything like that, especially to a stranger. Last season when even Eddie was bitching about about Plavichās shot selection Curt never said a negative thing about himā¦even when we tried to get it out of him.
I think Bobby realizes how he is more than just a basketball coach, he is also responsible for how these young men develop as people.
Iām sure that if Curt said something that indicated he was giving up on basketball, Bobby would get him in line. You donāt go to so many NCAA tourneys if you suck at people skills.
Seriously though, we need to chant CUR-TIS before the Indiana game. Itād be awesome on TV
I heard from someone who overheard someone say that our fans suck.
Support your team, let the coaches and players work this stuff out. There is always something going on behind the scenes to add a little drama that very few of us ever know about.
