I guarantee 40 or their QB’s 49 passes never went farther than 5yds downfield. At least 50% were screens. I bet they averaged 5-6 yds per screen pass. How can we not adjust to that and take that away? I truly, truly don’t understand how that is possible. We NEVER made that adjustment.

We had at least half a dozen chances to break him in half.
He was their leading rusher…WTF!!! 20 carries for 93 yds from stick man lightning McGee!! That might be the worst stat from the game.
Even the CampusInsiders commentators were dumbfounded as to why the Niners let TRice throw for 8-10 yards unmolested!

Yeah they were killing us about keeping it going. Rightfigully so too. I liked their production today. Commentators missed some names, but solid I thought.
The second half was the most brutal half of football we’ve had all year. Nothing on offense, and letting them march straight down the field on defense with nothing but WR screens and the QB running.
That was Rice’s second win on the year. Their other win was FCS Prairie View. What a Niner way to follow up wins at Marshall and USM.

The game is what it is…I heitate to put blame on anyone…the one thing that does stand out to me is the offensive possession with 7 minutes and change in the 4th…we should have been running the ball…killing the clock…instead we throw…then on the last possession…do or die…and we are running the ball…I think Mullen overcoaches things at times…do what the book says to do and we likely get the W
On the 2 hour drive home, I had pretty much every thought mentioned above along with…F@~K the band for having 5 members kneel during Anthem on military appreciation day. That won’t be forgotten when they reach out for future donations.
My rational response would be to say not to punish those that stood. Maybe cut your donation by the 5/xxx and let the director know.

This is kindly called “Pulling a Niner.” And yes…we do it all the time in every sport. It is our tradition. We don’t have many traditions…but this is the one we own.
As a matter of fact…I do believe 3 out of the 4 teams playing this weekend “Pulled a Niner.”

Going for a long pass on first down with 7 minutes remaining and up less than a touchdown is like drawing to an inside straight. Do the simple things and stop over thinking.
