Ryan Murphy to transfer from Charlotte

And now transferring from Pitt:

Looks like Murphy has a good grasp on what is important in life.

Is his undergrad from Pitt? Graduate from maybe a better school? Sounds pretty smart.

As noted in the VC tweet, he’s a grad transfer so, yes, he’s a Pitt grad

This piece reminded me that Murphy’s now lone season at Pitt really went downhill after suffering a concussion in early February.

I just don’t get this. Tulane is a bad team, in a lesser conference than Pitt. He is going to spend his last year losing to teams nobody cares about–much like he spent his first years here.

Maybe he likes green! FWIW, only one AAC team had a lower NET ranking than us - ECU.

…who also lost head to head.

Dooley wanted Murphy but I think we dodged a bullet . The guy shot 33% from three with a .481 true shooting at Pitt and 28% from three in JUCO’s the year before. He’s basically a three point specialist who can’t shoot threes even at an average level who I don’t even think would have even started or played that much for us.

Hey Wolfie, glad to see that you are still okay. Stay in your mom’s basement until all this is over.

I wish that was possible. The closest I will go to my mothers house is standing outside and talking to her from her porch. She has a respiratory illness unfortunately.

He was losing playing time at Pitt as the season went on.
He’s pretty smart. It would surprise me that wants a head start in a masters at a fantastic school while playing a lot of minutes

He lost playing time due to a concussion and was never the same but he had pretty good stats before that.

If I remember correctly, when he was with us he lost a year to a broken hand when he hit Reid Aube in the head, and then a bunch of games when he broke his foot. He is a fragile flower. Probably got the concussion for an enthusiastic cough.

Murphy missed half the season when he was in JUCO as well. Durability was certainly an issue. Tariq Silver has to be our top priority and he’s making his announcement today so I’m extra glad Murphy didn’t pick us and factored into his decision in any way as they are both shooting guards with him getting in the way. Silver is a top 25 JUCO, that is 6-5 with a 40 inch vert, shot 45.5% on high volume and 39.4% at Eastern Michigan before that. He’s exactly what our 347th ranked 3 point shooting team needs, not a dude that shot 28% in JUCO and 33% at Pitt and is 6-2 with no vertical.

He may be smart, but from personal experience dude is weird as shit. Puzzled by the move to Tulane.
