The oddest thing is that you care. I am on here way more than you and I don’t care what most people on here think one way or the other. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and if it is ignorant it’s no skin off my back.

Fixed that for you. You’re a sorry excuse for a Journalist if you’re not writing for us.
I am convinced some will never get over Bobby being fired. I liked Bobby and wanted him to turn things around his last few years here. But he was unable to do so and it was time for a change.
Is Major going to work out? I don’t know, I hope so and make no mistake next year is a big year for him to put up results. He makes decisions that I don’t agree with and sometimes don’t make sense. Guess what? Bobby did too.
Interesting that adjusting expectations based on where we are as a program equals to “accepting mediocrity.” we aren’t the program we were in CUSA. We aren’t even close right now. But we can get better and hopefully will start next season. But if you think we are just around the corner from getting the same talent we did in CUSA and making the tournament often? I think you are going to be mistaken. That’s the case with Major AND that was the case with Bobby at the end. I am grateful for Lutz and what he accomplished. But it’s time to move on even if some on here refuse to do so.
I dont agree with the bolded part. Why cant we get that talent? Most of our best players during that time were “diamonds in the rough”. Very few were 4 stars and I dont think any were 5 stars, except maybe Hayward. Demarco, Jobey, Diego, Rodney were almost all ranked 75-150 in their classes. If we can’t grab atleast 1 of those a year, we might as well quit altogether. You simply must get as much out of those players as possible.
Can we get these guys? Yes I think we can and I think we are targeting the same area. I just think it’s harder to land those diamonds now because the power schools have such a huge recruiting budget and staff. It is less likely for kids to sat under the radar.

Like I said-----if we cant land 1 top 125-150 guy a year we should drop to Big South or SoCon now.

Well we got a few last year right? And isn’t one of next years top 150?
The thing is we need at least one class that plays better than their ranking. That was the guys you mentioned.
Lester is currently top 150 at Rivals. Henry was 4 star at ESPN prior to his nasty leg injury. EVN was top 100 before committing to us.

Oh snap! The irony. Apparently some “judge”, but LAN “knows”.
Major to my eye just has no fire nor intensity that Lutz had. He does appear to be a good recruiter, which suprises me because the two usually tie in together.
This is the type of thread that I have been going about in my tirades the last few months. For the twenty board nazis just get angry and desist from commenting.
A new person comes to the board. You don’t know this person. Friendly or hostile? Who knows yet. It takes time to get to know people’s real intentions granted. But, possibly this person has good intentions. Let’s say they are interested in Charlotte sports and possibly already highly involved on some level now or in the past. They get mobbed by posts. Some sincere. Some hostile. Some rude. Some stupid. How do they feel? Get me the fck outta here forever.
Good for the board. Absolutely not. Good for the twenty nazis who want to control the board. Sure.
Any college grad from any school who is afraid of the word liberal or atheist better re-examine their education. Night
I know what you mean. I hate it when people judge others. Oh wait…that’s what you just did.
By the way, disagreeing and being afraid are two separate things.
Which individual have I judged that hasn’t directly attacked me with nonsense?
I get people telling me I’m a bad person or that I don’t make contributions to society. How could they know? I don’t personally know anyone here.
Just get a lot of snarky comments. that’s what new people get on here. So I’m just giving some of it back.
And just because you are not afraid of liberals or atheists doesn’t mean others are not. I don’t think anyone here speaks for everyone. So just speak for yourself. But I didn’t name anyone so you don’t have to reply if it doesn’t pertain to you.
A coach’s head could burst into intense flames, but if his PLAYERS CAN’T HIT THEIR SHOTS, that flaming intensity will make NO difference. I do know it could result in alienating officials who will slap a T on you in a hot minute. The result? POINTS FOR THE OTHER TEAM.
A coach’s head could burst into intense flames…
Coaching like your hair’s on fire!
I didn’t realize a coach getting really animated meant something. Surely didn’t the last five years. People need to move on, Lutz isn’t walking through the door anytime soon.
I think the problem is managing expectations among fans. Some fans expect to have a winning record every year and that is ok. Others see a rebuilding process and that is ok. I think that if these big donors want to pull money because their expectations are not being met then I say, bye bye. This school has been around since the 40’s and will be around long after these donors are gone. Win or lose I am proud of my University. For me it is the only one I have and I will support it until I die. I support the players, the coaches, and even Judy Rose because these people are in their respective positions for my University.
I for one am excited with the players we have and the players coming in for next season. I think Major and co will add another pg as well as a new group of quality players for 2013. We are headed in the right direction. It is just a matter of how long it takes to get there.
Im not afraid of liberals or atheists - just disagree with everything they believe or is that don’t believe? Speaking for just myself of course.
Hard to argue with a grown adult’s opinions on those two issues, it’s a hopeless cause by now.

People need to move on, Lutz isn’t walking through the door anytime soon.
Don’t really get this criticism either. There are plenty of coaches that are effective without getting animated or barking at the refs. E.g. my impression is that I’ve seen a similar style by Fran Dunphy at Temple, Phil Martelli at St. Joes, Mooney at Richmond, or outside the league like Hamilton at FSU, Thompson at Georgetown, Few at Gonzaga, ex-Stanford coach Montgomery, etc. And it’s not like Major never gets animated, he’s often up off the bench encouraging the players, yelling out instructions, and occasionally even complaining to the refs over calls. If Major starts producing wins like those other coaches that have a similar style, I’m guessing most fans will be fine with it.
Just my personal preference, no right or wrong. Towards the end of the season I felt like I was watching the NBA East All Stars playing defense. A great coach in my opinion can motivate any players whether they are his own or the ones when he got there. Only a few players bought in, and at this point I’m not sure what philosophy they bought into. Playing great on which end of the court?
