Sad to watch...

Yeah Major’s often lack of emotion is amplified by the losses. We want to see a coach who is getting pissed off like we are. That is not always the right reaction though. While I would like to see him get more into the game I think we can just assume either that is not his style or the AD has decreed bench behavior since they were not fans of Bobby’s actions.

Can definitely agree with that. Bobby was over the top at times and it cost us, usually in change of regime they want to go as far away as possible from the last guy that failed.

I’ve often thought that the actions of the previous regime is why we are getting the calls we have gotten in the A10. Maybe Major sees that and he is trying to turn that around. He did state that the reason he did not get animated over the bad calls that he sees is because he does not want the players to see that and think it is ok to lose focus on the task at hand. If they see him getting on the officials then they may get on the officials and not back on defense. Major doesn’t wear a suit and tie to practice and from what I’ve seen through videos appears to be very involved with the players in practice. That is where he needs to show emotion and passion more than the 2 hours every few days that there is a game.

I have heard interviews with both Phil and Judy over the last 2 years where they specifically mentioned bench behavior.

That said, I heard the same thing that Dowless says. Major said he doesn’t want the players to use the officials as a crutch, so that is why he doesn’t argue with the refs.

The greatest coach of all time, John Wooden, said, “How can you expect 20 yr old kids to control their emeotions when you can’t?”

Pretty much sums it up.

I think when you get upset all the time, you lose credibility. Bobby was over the top at times and I think he even admitted he had lost some credibility with the refs.

As far as the talent we’re getting, if we’re in fact getting the same talent we were in CUSA (which I don’t believe we are but I don’t follow the recruiting rankings as close as some), then we’ve stopped having players pan out greater then their rankings OR we’re not developing talent which is a product of coaching.

How can you judge their ability to develop talent from that?

I was more referring to the talent we had the last few seasons under Bobby. I don’t think we can judge Major yet on that.

Yeah, how long has it taken Leonard Hamilton to get fsu to where they are now? About 10 years.

People should also move on from posting this same statement constantly. It is NORMAL for current coaches to be compared to the previous coach for atleast a few years until he establishes his own identity.

Every thread on here turns into the same, rehashed shit.

I realized 2k that Lutz isn’t coming back. But if the Coach doesn’t give a f*ck, how can the players or fans?

So now AM doesn’t care? Excellent, thanks for pointing that out SCK.

Every coach in the country, BUT Major gets into the game. Excited, happy, mad, something. Major is a block of granite.

Yeah, you’re right SCK. I’ve never seen AM get into the game.

Does anyone know if Emmy Rossum got naked on Shameless last night?

Why don’t you “tweat” her and ask?

[Yeah, how long has it taken Leonard Hamilton to get fsu to where they are now, About ten years] Not quite that long!
Hamilton led the Seminoles to the second round of the NIT Tournament in his second year at Florida State. He is the first coach to lead Florida State to seven consecutive tournament appearances. His team has participated in the NIT in 2006, 2007 and 2008 and the 2009, 2010, 2011 & 2012 NCAA Tournaments. Hamilton continues to return Florida State to a program of significance both nationally and in the ACC. Now in his 10th season as the Seminoles’ head coach, he has elevated the program in every way possible.

I think Major or Bobby would have loved to landed ACC talent here too. We are not Florida St.

He’s recruited well there (Michael Snaer, Chris Singleton, etc) and can sell playing Duke and UNC sometimes twice a year along with other nationally televised games.

Alan Major doesn’t care? Seriously?
