Looks like theyâre moving quickly. My Facebook newsfeed is blowing UP with people having purchased their season tickets.
Ticket Return shows 663 sold when I requested 2.
Thatâs one full section an 33% of another.
If Iâve done my math correctly that should put us over 6000 paid season tickets.
Of course that assumes they started at 000. When I used to go to a bank and open a checking account, theyâd say what number do you want your checks to start with?
Could the Ath. Dept have started at 600, just to make it look like tickets are being sold?

If only the AD could communicate better and wasnât #stealth.

I donât think we really want to only be at 15,000. With the quick move to FCS, Iâm thinking we want to get to 25,000 sooner than later. Requiring every potential season ticket holder to also make a donation to the athletic department wouldnât help that goal. If we had a definite 30,000 people wanting 15,000 tickets then I would agree with you. But I donât think the demand is that high.

Hard to generate demand when nobody knows about our program.

I think it would depend on how much of a donation weâre talking. As someone who just graduated from grad school 4 weeks ago, I donât have any real spare cash. If the donation would exceed more than my current annual giving by too much, then I wouldnât have been able to pull off buying the two that I did. Of course, Iâd be fine with it if they did a young alumni program, or something similar.
Maybe, but maybe not. If it had required a huge donation, I would not have been able to purchase them. As it is, $360 for 2 tickets hurts a little bit while making peanuts as a law student. Instead, I will be able to give $49 to join the 49er club a little later on.
Happy that you were able to get tickets. We give when we can, being there and supporting the team is extremely important as well.
If we want to play with the big boys weâd better have a bigger donor base than 5K. We do want as many fans as possible but the fans who just buy tickets without a donation will be the first to drop their season tickets when times get tough.
I think the AD did a great job establishing the 1st tier of donors with FSLs but they definitely missed an opportunity establishing a 2nd tier of donors who give smaller amounts.
Letâs worry about 25K worth of people when have a 25K stadium, right now we have bigger worries.
Are you familiar with our donor base? it is small and already made up mostly of people who give small amounts. We just managed to get a good portion of them to bite on FSLs.
The more tickets we sell, the faster our fan base grows. The faster we increase our fan base, the better home field advantage we have. The faster our fan base grows, the more new donors we eventually add. Hereâs the kicker. The faster our fan base grows, the better our TV ratings.
Iâm surprised tickets did not go faster, and the minimal effort the AD put forth in communicating it.
Not a good start for the AD in handling of football.

Did I miss an update on how many tickets were sold?

Did I miss an update on how many tickets were sold?
I havenât seen any official update. If you go by the seat number ticket return is showing, there have been at least 700 sold.

I donât think forcing people to make a donation is the best way to attract fans. That sounds like CHPâs approach of âHey, youâve been out of school for 10 years. You should be giving more than you are currently givingâ. I just donât think weâre in the position to be turning any fans away.
I guess it depends on what you prefer. For me, Iâd prefer say 18,000 season tickets, with about 14,000 donating to the athletic department. Opposed to 15,000 season tickets with 15,000 donating to the Athletic Department.

I donât know what the exact stadium capacity would be, but the stadium is already capable of easily adding temporary seating.
