Never know what you’ll find when reading another board…
Charlotte impressed me, especially Mack and Colley. Those guys were lights out nuts against Umass. Never heard of them before but they carried the day until Goldwire arrived at the end. But neither Harris nor the white kid impressed me much as point guards. The little white guy sure could dribble and at one point looked like the pale versionof the Globetrotters but he didn't seem to show much otherwise. Maybe he'll improve but Andersen and Dewhurst were zeros. Lutzie needs a backcourt. I'd rate them average right now.
I’m sorry, i know we’ve beat this horse but, Analysis: SLU basketball: that bald white guy sure can eat, coach to set record for hoagies before halftime.

Majerus was wearing black in the game against us, so I suggested that TNA yell, “Not even black can flatter you!” I don’t think he used it though. The little white guy can play he just needs to finish a little bit more often. Threesomes aside, his problem this year has been the fact that he’ll get to the rim and the ball with roll out. Once it starts to fall, it will open up a lot more offense for us in the next couple of years.
Funny thing is that the poster of that quoted section picks Charlotte and Xavier as the top teams in the A-10 next season! [BTW, his observations came from attending the A-10 tourney in A.C.]
Average? if we are just average next year, i will be supremely disappointed.
i see us as a force next year. i honestly believe that we will win the A10.

Over/under… I say we are predicted to finish fourth next pre-season.

As I noted, he was commenting on his observations at the A-10 tourney and then relating that to next year. Actually, his entire post in that thread isn’t bad. Just thought his reference to Gerrity as that “little white guy” was funny, especially since Harris is 3 inches shorter!
dude dont give us that much respect…you know that no one else is going to. i bet we’ll be picked to finish 7th. the voters will not see the body of work from this season. they’ll see the fact that leemire is gone and 1/3 of our points go with him, thus no faith will be placed in our team. we dont have any 90+ rated recruits coming in like XU does, so that must mean we are going to suck forever

I did use it, thank you very much. You just didn’t hear me.

Ok, well, I certainly don’t mind flying under the radar. That is when a team is the most dangerous.

Xavier?
They lose Duncan, Lavender and Burrell. Yeah, this guy’s opinion is money.

NA, I like Xavier to finish at the top again in spite of losing Burrell, Duncan, and Lavender. Coming back are these starters: 6-8 F Derrick Brown (10.7 ppg, 6.6 rpg), 6-6 G/F C.J. Anderson (10.6 ppg, 6.0 rpg), and 6-6 G/F B.J. Raymond (10.3 rpg, 3.1 rpg). Also returning are key reserves 6-4 G Adrion Graves, 6-5 G Dante Jackson, and 6-9 C/F Jason Love (6.2 ppg, 5.5 rpg).
In addition to those returnees, the X-Men gain 6-8 F Jamal McLean (transfer from Tulsa, where he played in all 31 games as a frosh in 2006-07 and averaged 6.0 ppg and 4.8 rpg [2nd on team] and had career-highs of 10 points and 11 rebounds in a game at Arkansas), as well as a freshman class that includes 6-11 C Kenny Frease (Rivals #41), 6-1 PG Mark Lyons (Rivals #120), 6-0 PG Brad Redford (2008 Michigan Mr. Basketball), and 6-4 SG Brian Walsh.
The Musketeers aren’t rebuilding – just reloading! The biggest shoes to fill will be at PG and if Johnny Wolf had not tranferred to UNCW, then there wouldn’t be any questions there. Until someone else can knock them off, X is the team to beat.

I think you’re right that they’ll be near the top and a good team. But given how they’ve performed this year with Lavender injured or whatever is wrong with him, there’s reason to doubt it. Earlier in the year they were manhandling teams. After Lavender’s injury, they struggled. The one thing that carried them was Burrell’s defense and toughness. But he’s gone too, so they will seriously need someone to step up, and we should know from experience that it’s extremely dicey to rely on freshmen and transfers to fill big voids their first year. Dante Jackson will need to improve quite a bit I think, maybe he will.
