Another win. I will take it. Thorne with a huge block that could have won us the game. Major with a terrible mistake leaving him in to get fouled. Learn from it and move on. Cautiously excited for Sunday.
My money would be on Thorne being left in the game because if possession changes you’d need some size on the other end. Otherwise you’re left with Dorn having one of the bigs for USC muscle in for the tie score easily.
Nice to see us come back from 14 down to win. Woods and Dorn were fairly quiet but didn’t make huge mistakes or cost us anything.
Weird game. I said we didn’t have a chance the way we opened, we were very timid (maybe hangover from last nights long game). But, we became more aggressive in the 2nd. We didn’t get the subs/freshmen in as much this game, but they played decent. Would really like to get Sully back. I was hoping Braxton handling the ball alot more would mean less turnovers for PH, but it hasn’t so far. Got to get that cleaned up and try to split one of the two games with Miami.

why would you leave thorne in the game. it makes no sense to me. put your best 5 FT shooters in and let them go to the line. that was a coaching mistake to leave him in.

you put him in for D. but don’t let him touch the ball offensively.

Sounds good but they can still foul him even if he does not have the ball. :-\
It was our ball with 14 seconds left. There is no needing a rebound from Thorne. We either get fouled, have 2 shots and make the sub between shots or worst case we turn the ball over, but personally, I wouldn’t have Thorne in there just in case that happens so he can play defense. If we turned it over, we had fouls to give and could have fouled and subbed him in then. It was just a terrible move by Major.

I just told you why he was in the game. Let’s say Thorne comes out as well and they steal the inbounds, now you have zero rim protection and you’re at a severe disadvantage for rebounds. If anything, Thorne should have been parked in the far corner completely removed from the play and out of sight lines. Gives you extra time to get the ball in without refs seeing the cheap gimme before the inbounds.
We won, the 20/20 hindsight on this board is insane.
