I got there about 30 minutes before kick off but was surprised at the amount of people still tailgating. Iāve never seen that many students on campus on a Saturday before. Football really will transform the University and the surrounding area.
The attendance number from the University is 13,950. I would have gone with 12,000 - 12,500 if you look at the stands from the 3rd quarter on.
I was very pleased with everything. I expected to see a lot of people that have never been to a Charlotte game before, and were just there because they heard about it on the news. But what I saw was TONS of Niners shirts and hats. A lot of people were coming back on campus for the first time in years.
Parking was flawless and I security and university officials didnāt intervene and take the fun out of tailgating.

Yeah, go ahead and take that last line off. This was our day and ourās alone. Go NINERS!
The spring game was a huge success in my mind. Not sure how parking was for most but at the CRI deck where we parked we were in and out with no delay. The stadium look great, crowd was great, student section was great. The only negative I had was the chaos at the BN store, they only had one register. They said they will have that rectified the next game. Food service was plentiful, no waiting. VIDEO BOARD WAS EPIC!!!
I really have not idea how to judge the team or their playing style, I will let more knowledgeable folks comment on that.
no complaints from me, from the product on the field, to the turnout, to Jani King making sure lots were clean, to my wife wanting to know who to write a letter of appreciation to about the 6 ladies who watched over the Bounce Houses, everything was top notch.
Only thing that I donāt like is that the team came out to hellās bells, and to be honest, I love the song, but App State, and Chapel Hill both use it. Other than that, no complaints. Awesome day, awesome time, great day to be a Niner.
Other than the lack of a marching band, I was extremely pleased. Crowd was amazing. The product on the field wasnāt too shabby either. Very proud day to be a Niner.
some knowledgeable body pls write a critique of the team! i get nervous thinking that there might not be an expert somewhere in ninernation. i thought we were authorities on everything.
Notice how few open seats are in the corners and endzone and there are a TON of people at least 2 rows deep standing all along the top of the bowl all the way down the length of the bowl.
And music choices need improvement. Donāt like Hellās Bells as our intro. Didnāt like the piano intro of some rap song as we lined up in the Redzone. Poor clip selection. I thought I was watching the Masters. And I heard the no sleep till Brooklyn song. Thought that was reserved for this years basketball games lol.
Lastly, Gold Dusters should perform at the 50-yard line, not the endzone opposite the fieldhouse.
