A few thoughts: mtsu, our tourney winner got a 15 (!) seed. Reg season champ, uab, got squat. :-[ The sun belt tourney champ, ualr, got a 12 seed. :o Think about that and let that sink in. ???
Man, we have a ways to go, just to be not so great. Depressing now, but I’m optimistic we’re going to be at the top of CUSA soon, which is for us and the reality of the moment, all we can hope for until the next conference shake up that puts us in a better b-ball conference, or CUSA gets better. Which ever come first.
Can’t wait. Really, I CAN’T wait…I’m 65. :))
We desperately need to get to the AAC.
When we were in the A10 the league forced teams to ramp up the scheduling and it went a long way for the conference getting multiple bids. CUSA needs to do the same, but A10 programs care about basketball and I don’t think CUSA programs feel the same way.

I’m not sure what the deal is with CUSA schools, but they tend to schedule like ECU when it comes to basketball.
Anyone else feeling a very chalk Final Four? I think there will be a great number of upsets along the way, but I don’t think the number of teams that can win it all is very deep.
Surprisingly good take by what looks like a clickbait site.
When the committee leaves out rare appearance programs like St Mary’s, Monmouth, etc, in favor of absolute blah programs like this year’s Vandy squad, the tournament loses its color, it’s capacity to entertain. And we know why it’s happening - greed. They don’t want to share money with the non power conferences. I’m so sick of how badly money has ruined this sport.
Who didn’t wanna see Monmouth’s bench at the tournament? Remember last year’s tourney? Not really… But I do remember Georgia State’s Coach Hunter falling down in celebration and having to wheel his leg around on that little cart. His team made the tournament interesting. Ho hum Vandy doesn’t. Start putting more emphasis on wins and not who you lost to.
Our only team got a 15 seed. So so far from when we were in the A-10 and it got 7 teams. We have fallen so far. It’s sad. I’m not even sure what else to say. Reality has set in…we have given up anything to do with basketball in order to add football.
I can’t believe the NCAA committee had Duke had the 13th overall seed and ranked ahead of Kentucky. Of course their AD and former AD are both on the committee.
That ship has sailed unfortunately. We can only sit and wait for new leadership and hopefully the next wave of realignment doesn’t happen before then. I think Fill is retiring in 2019.
Lack of football is what put us in this place. Our so called leadership completely misread the landscape. Which is amazing considering we all could read it just fine.
This. It gets really old listening to people rip the conference for our problems.[/quote]
Also, what good is it for Charlotte to have stayed in the A10 if we never crack that small group (3 this year) that get in the tournament? Football gives us a chance to move up. Without it the best we’d ever do is the A10.

I have an honest, non- “whoa is me” question for you guys. I know we are all pretty biased about our leadership being terrible, but can anybody think of any other program that has fallen the way we have? We hear all the time about the Boise’s, TCU’s and many of our former CUSA conference mates climbing the ladder, but I would just be interested to see who else (if there is anybody) that is, (or was) in our shoes?

I don’t think there is a team in the country that made the NCAA tournament in 7 out of the last 10 years that has had the kind of fall we have. Ridiculous to spend a decade dancing 70% of the time, to the next decade dancing 0% of the time with little accountability at the top.
Well, not recently, but DePaul. They had a ton of success in the late 80s and early 90s, then had all of that vacated, made 2 appearances in the early '00s, and now they suck like us.
BTW, if you ended up back in Clayton, that makes 2 Niner fans here.
