The Braves Are Not Going to the Playoffs

I would say Yankees and Red Sox fans fit that bill.
Easily Yankees. They were Wal Mart Tar Hole fans before there were Wal Mart Tar Hole fans.

They were basically the only team in the South for a long time. But I can see how you might say that for Braves fans that might be in San Diego, Denver, Houston, etc, only because they used to watch them on TBS.

With any luck, I’ll be down there Sunday.

That’s hardly fair. I became a Braves fan when they were the worst team in baseball.
When you were like 2 years old?
7. They were on TBS every night and I liked David Justice. Are you finished?
Just saying its been a very long time since Atlanta was the worst team in baseball, that’s all. :-*

What if I am a fan of the worst team in baseball NOW?..but I started liking them when they were good. Is that reverse bandwagon?

DALE MURPHY FOR HOF!

I’m going to ATL for game 4 but I would have no problem at all with staying at home if you get my drift.

We’re waiting.
Here I am. Congratulations, Braves fans.

For the record, your favorite team mocks a people who experienced genocide. Also, a mismatched 40 player roster Philly came within one run of sweeping yuse guyz!

But seriously, congrats on making the playoffs. Although I hate Atlanta more than the Mets, or any other team in baseball, the majority of people I love and respect from almost 24 years of living in the south–are Braves fans. Speaking strictly in terms of baseballdom, Bobby cox deserves this.

Where I live out by the coast, I can pick up Phillies games on 1210 The Big Talker. Former Phillie GM, Pat Gillick, was interviewed before the 7-0 Fightins’ win on Saturday. He went in detail about how respected Bobby is around baseball and how he is even available to help with the development of players whom aren’t even a part of his organization.

I don’t think I posted since the experience, but I did go to the 2nd game of the Philly ATL series in Philly. Doc got his 20th. It was by far the most important and best MLB game I’ve been to. What an experience! I met so many people that night. They were so pleased to meet someone from out of town that was a phanatic that I recieved free food, free beer, a bottle of gin, a bottle of absinthe, and several kisses. Philly fans are good people. Before you spout anti-Phillyness because of Vick I posit this: 1) Screw the Iggles, I’m a Broncos fan and 2) I remember many Panthers fans wishing that The Big Cat would sign the very same canicer. Sports fans are fickle. About Philadelphia, you only hear about the morons who puke on little girls or boo Santa.

The best news of all is that I hung out in a bar in NE Philly where the proprietor’s son is good friends with the director of ticketing. There is a good chance that I will get tickets to the Cincinati, or San Francisco, or the Rays postseason series.’

Love,

Pirates? Orioles? …
Phillies 3 starters will be tough in the playoffs. Braves have a chance, I think the Padres are gone. I think wildcard will be Braves or Rockies/SF.

I would pick SF for the division and wildcard will come down to the wire. I’m torn, Asheville’s Minor league squad is a Rockie affiliate so I’ve seen lots of the guys come through, but I still like the Braves.
Feel free to ask for my insights anytime…

Ask Tar Heel fans in three years…

WTF? ???

…and the ones who run out on the field with regularity.

I hate to quote myself but yeah…

I went to game 4, it was awesome in so many ways. One of the coolest sporting events I’ve ever witnessed in person.

Lincecum vs. Halladay is gonna be retarded.

great response. how did i miss this?

So…all of you prognosticators, did you also see that a depleted Braves team would play the World Series Champs better than any other team? :)) :)) :))

I thought the Phillies played them better than the Braves.

Pirates? Orioles? …
