[glow=red,2,300]Let me tell you how much i dont care. i have reached a point where the sheer act of watching a game has become impossible without drinking lots of alcohol. this team is just hard to watch. there effort isnt there and honestly i have a hard time even getting angry. i care so little that this team might as well be dead to me. and not dead as in “i’ll visit there graves and pay my respects” dead, but “oh, there was a funarel?!?” dead. when judy rose stops caring about her abs and more about mens sports, then maybe our program can get on the right track and i’ll start caring again. until then, i dont care. i mean why even have a program if your just going to tell your coach not to review video?! i cant believe shes such a micromanager that she took over the hiring process and gave majors the job without even interviewing him. once again i just dont care anymore.[/glow]
I can identify with the title of this thread. It appeared the first post laid out some sort of rules for posting in it. But I didn’t care enough to read them.
I used to couldn’t wait for Midnight Madness…to scout the team and get hyped for the season.
-Now…I haven’t been to a Midnight Madness in over 6 yrs
I used to make sure that I got my 4 tickets in Priority 1 seating to get as close to the action as possible…I even got into the lower bowl 3yrs ago.
-Now…I get 4 family zone tickets
I used to NEVER miss a home game period
-Now…I go to the ones where it is convenient and I have nothing else going on. Probably 60%-70% of the games.
I used to travel to any game within a 3-4hr drive
-Now…I haven’t driven to an away game in 4-5yrs
I used to listen to every game on radio that wasn’t on TV…and I would watch and record every game on TV
-Now…I watch if I can, but I am just as content following the ticker on the phone until we are down 12+ pts. Then I just check the final score later.
I used to track RPI throughout the year and have fun projecting what we needed to do to get talked about in the at large conversation.
-Now…it’s almost funny that I even did that. RPI calculating hasn’t been relevant or needed in nearly a decade.
There are so many more…but I have other things to do. I might as well be apathetic about this too.

I forgot we had a game today until someone reminded me. I saw it on the schedule the other day but it slipped my mind. I watched it today; From my TV. Getting in the car and driving the 10 minutes it takes me to get to campus just seemed like such a bother.
I wasn’t going to buy season tickets this year, especially since I haven’t been able to add to my savings in a very long time. I caved in late-October after repeatedly hearing “this team is going to be sick this year. This will be our best season in years,” and the constant phone calls from the athletic department.
We were terrible as usual today. Got in a big hole early, and got out-hustled, out-coached, and out-performed by players with less talent. I didn’t get angry once though. I just shook my head and regretted wasting hard-earned money on the same pathetic losing effort I’m used to and have come to expect.
I barely care enough to come over to NNN after losses to read all the venom being spewed, only to find out that most other people have stopped posting too.
I bought season tickets for eight years after I graduated, including the 2 years I spent living all the way down in Alabama (working for a college athletic department that holds its coaches and employees accountable and gives a good goddamn about the product it’s putting out there, might I add). I stopped renewing my tickets last year and didn’t get them this year either. I contributed to the 49er Club, but not before giving the poor soul on the other end of the line an earful about how unhappy I was.
I still have a lot of friends in the Athletic Department from my years doing PA, so this pains me to say… but if I had to sum the Department up in one word, that word is [size=4]LAZY[/size]. The marketing is lazy, uninspired, and dull… the administration is too lazy to bring in coaches who generate any excitement… and the fans are apathetic as a result, for which no one can blame them. The basketball program has gone from NCAA Tournament mainstay to non-factor in 10 years, and we just extend the coach over and over again when any administration with half a brain and any vision at all would make a change. The entire administration needs to turn over - fresh blood is needed now more than ever.

I’m done getting mad though, there are more important things in life than to get mad about college sports, I will stop giving my money and my time, that’s the only way the AD will know we are not pleased, but even then they have student fees to cover their bills so it doesn’t really matter.
Unfortunatly there are some that are long time supporters commenting on the board that it could be much worse… so I guess we should be happy it isn’t… :
