The email

several months ago many of you heard about an email from CHP that he sent me that was pretty rude. You’ve heard HP refer to it alot. The jist of it is that I sent a polite email to CHP in support of Lutz getting a new contract.

Dubois response to me was along the lines of “your $500 last year and season tickets, and 8 yrs of purchasing them are…modest at best” He then went on to pretty much blame Lutz for ticket sales.

so…yesterday I got an email from our Foundation about the June reminder (which was good). I wrote this reply back to Ms Weatherman and CC’d a host of people. :shades:

Kelly,
thx for the reminder, I forgot the deadline. I want to, and will give to my alma mater that I sorely love, but I must tell you a piece of me is irked doing so. I emailed Phil Dubois very politely asking he retain coach Lutz earlier this year, his reply to me was my $500 last year and season tix were “modest,” and if we want competitive salaries, my modest donations won’t ad up. What a nice gesture to a customer huh??? Maybe if his “modest” efforts as chancellor at getting alum excited were better, more than 1000 donors would participate out of 75000!! Constant insults publicly and electronically to supporters via the chancellor aren’t the path to a stronger financially healthy Ninernation.

I know you can’t comment back, but I just wanted to let the foundation know an honest opinion of what you are up against.

go Niners,
Tim

does anyone have the link to the email? somehow i missed it when it was originally discussed.

My favorite part!!!

Nicely done!!!

Is Ninernation one word or two words?

glad to read your email. It would be interesting to be in certain offices around campus today. Personally, I think they need more than one email . Hopefully, the right people will hear this.

my favorite part is that you cc’d dubois.

Great job metro! It was done in a professional way too which is a plus. When I first saw the thread title I thought it was a Seinfeld Episode.

Excellent e-mail Metro!!!

LOL!!!

Nice work Metro!

Although I never heard about your reply from CHP and your “modest” donations, but that was totally out of bounds… for ANY school employee to say! How much you (or any of us, for that matter) donate is your business, and for him to apparently do the research to investigate your giving level and then “single you out” about it was totally bush-league.

Not to turn this into a football thread… But now I understand now why he made that assinine comment about how “the $100 and $1,000 dollar donations from alumni will not get this thing done” regarding the football push. Doing a little simple math would allow him to see that if he could endear himself to just 20,000 of those alumni and get a $1000 donation from them, that would be $20,000,000, and he would not have to raise the stupid athletic fee an additional $300 for the students to “carry the majority of the burden” of the cost of football. By making ****ty comments like that to a loyal alumni such as yourself, he obviously appears to not be capable of doing that…

Not to mention all the time that he or his staff are wasting by looking up everyone’s contribution history. That time and effort could go to finding ways to increase donations, instead of cutting down those that do.

QFT!!

that was my exact reply back to him in March. I told him I am not part of his problem, but the solution, he should work to get $500 from the 75,000 alum not participating.

thats how damn petty this guy is…he got my email and got my history from the foundation (at least I existed on the list)

Awesome email Metro. I knew that he had been rude to you in an email but never knew he actually looked up your past donations and commented about them! Bush league doesn’t begin to describe it.

Did Phil respond to your most recent email? Pls make sure to post it if he does!

You’ll probably have to wait until CHP gets back from Omaha…

I got an email back from him today regarding the End of Year Newsletter. He said it should be out in a week or so…kind of late huh? So I am sure he read Metro’s email b/c he replied to mine in about 10 minutes.

That was a “Homerun”, Metro.

:49ers:

I’ve had it with Phil de Bush-League.
I always thought we should give him a chance. I was encouraged about our prospects since he came from a school with football (Wyoming).
I have to say the time has come for some real leadership at U of C.
Can’t you all see the writing on the wall? Let’s wait until we have 35k students.
Let’s not challenge the flagship’s medical “colony” in Charlotte.
And U of C? Forget about it!
I’m sure (NOT) that the 15 corporate money-bags the Chancellor e-mailed will all come through and we’ll be winning basketball, baseball, golf, and football championships in the Big East or SEC in 6 or 7 years.
Mac, where are you? Are you available?
If (when) DeBois succeeds in carrying out Friday’s and Spangler’s wishes, we will need another petition drive to end his contract before he shutters the doors.
Metro, I’ve had it with his petty tactics. Good luck to you and everyone on Dr. Phil’s “enemies list”.

Nice job. And in all honesty, how many people actually donate more than $500 annually? Point being $500 donors in our current foundation should not be criticized. They are the minority.

oh the irony…
when the foundation newsletter came out a few months ago with the donor levels, HE AND MY NAME WERE IN THE SAME LEVEL :lmao:
